We know you have your exams going on, all the best! But here's a moment of celebration for us that we'd like to share with you!
While most of you were busy preparing for exams, Sushmitha H S from 2nd semester, ECE Department participated in a quick IEEE CSIS'19 contest and has received an honorary mention for the acronym she came up with!
We're very proud of her and we hope this motivates you as a student to take part in various IEEE events happening in and around the country!

On 16th April of 2019, IEEE-PESCE in collaboration with Department of Electronics and Communication organized a Talk on "Traits and Attitude of Student Innovators and Entrepreneurs" By Abhishek Appaji M, Assistant Professor (BMS College of Engineering), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamper,
Joint Secretary & SIGHT Chair, IEEE Bangalore Section.

The talk started with introduction to SIGHT( Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology) and the various activities that come under SIGHT.

He told us about his experience at MIT and other places that he had visited. He taught us what entrepreneurship and creativity exactly is, also he told us what new jobs will be available 10 years down the line. He also gave us a small task to check our creativity and spoke about his innovations too.

At last we winded up the event by giving the prizes to all the winners of CRESCO 19.0, Stay tuned for more updates.

Greetings from IEEE PESCE!

Every year we at IEEE PESCE conduct our Annual technical fest "Cresco". Cresco gives an opportunity to bring along all IEEE members on a single platform where they learn, innovate and experience together.

Inauguration of CRESCO 19.0 was on 29-03-19. Branch counsellor-Radhakrishna Rao,Wie mentor-MC Padma, Chief Guest- Dr.B Ramachandra, Guest of honour- Harsha G Rao
were present for the inaugural function. General Secretary, Manasa M R presented the annual report, tech talk was given by Harsha G Rao, who is a data analyst at Airbus India.

Yesterday marked the end of "CRESCO 19.0". It was a two days event and as a part of the celebration we conducted extravagant technical events like ;
>>Code Quest, where the participants decoded the program using basic C language.
>>Quizzine which contained both technical and non Technical tricky questions.
>>Short Circuit- where people enjoyed designing PCB and compete on the same.
>>Byte The Bits-it's an assembly level programming language contest.

We conducted non technical events such as :
>>Riddle me - A virtual treasure hunt where participants need to solve complex riddles.
>>Debathon- its the debate competition event about the technical topics.
$Snapster an abstract photography contest.
>>Maidaan! A LAN Gaming event for Gamers which included PUBG, CS, FIFA and NFS.

Totally 200 students took part in various events.
All in all, the event was successfully conducted with lots of fun.

Greetings from IEEE PESCE.

PATRIKA, the national level paper presentation contest was conducted successfully on 27th March, 2019 by IEEE PESCE.
Often intelligence is measured by not the knowledge but the ideas one generates. And PATRIKA provided the platform where great ideas from brilliant minds were witnessed all under one roof. The research papers presented was realistic and saw convincing practical approach on solving various real life problems. At the end the best of the many great papers were selected as winners.
We are glad to announce that people from various places of the nation came with their ideas and presented them.
We got a positive response and we will conduct more such events.

On 9th of March we at IEEE-PESCE organised a Technical Symposium on the occasion of International Women's Day.

The event started off with lighting the lamp, the day was filled with inspiration and motivation.

We had amongst us Dr Shambhavi (Associate professor in Information Science and Engineering , BMS College of Engineering), Dr Bindu A Thomas (Director, VVIET), Dr Ashwini Appaji (Secretary, IEEE WIE, Bangalore Section).

Dr Shambhavi shared the importance and applications of Information and Communication Technologies, whereas Dr Ashwini Appaji gave a brief introduction about the WIE and YP functions of the WIE and YP, along with this Dr Bindu Thomas introduced about the Computer Vision which include methods of processing and analyzing digital images.

The event turned out successful, and the audiences responded positively. The event ended with a networking session that happened over lunch.

We are looking forward to conduct more such events. Stay tuned to know more.
