Hello Freshers!

Hope this year opened up a path of plentitude of opportunities for all of you and unfurls lots of fun (along with quizzes and assignments XD) in the future!

As it is rightly said that you can be an expert in any field of study with consistent effort and learning, The UG Academic Council takes pleasure in bringing to you a branch-wise guidance session. The session would aid in getting you familiar with various academic and career prospects of your branch.
A few of your seniors shall be guiding you regarding your branch and the various opportunities that would come your way.

The major highlights of the session would be as follows (These things will be discussed for each branch):
(a) the nature and content of courses being taught.
(b) kind of internships and placements you can get after completing education.
(c) scope of pursuing higher studies.

The date and timings of the session are mentioned in the poster (posted alongwith) .

ThinkSwiss Research Scholarships: Asia-Pacific
Accepting applications till 15th Jan 2023.

ThinkSwiss Research Scholarships is a program that allows students from India, Singapore, and Australia to the enter world of Swiss academia. It combines a high-quality curriculum with innovative thinking. The Scholarship is provided for a maximum period of 3 months and the Program specifically encourages students with an interest in Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), One Health, biodiversity, or climate change and action to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:
● A master's degree or a bachelor's degree student who would have completed their 2nd year of degree by the time the research in Switzerland would begin
● A written confirmation from a professor at a Swiss university providing acceptance for a research stay in his/her group.

Things to be included in the application:
1. A cover letter outlining the research project (e.g., an overview of the tasks and milestones of the project that was agreed upon by the student and the host professor). It should also explain why should the student be awarded the ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship, and why would the student be an excellent “student ambassador” in the future
2. A CV (no more than two pages)
3. A copy of transcripts of current university (photocopies of official transcripts issued to the student shall be accepted)
4. A letter of acceptance from the professor and/or hosting institution in Switzerland [ The student needs to request a confirmation letter on the University/Institute letterhead from the host professor]
5. A letter of recommendation from a professor at the current institution who can attest to the applicant’s abilities

The applicant is free to schedule research anytime between 1st April 2023 - 31st December 2023. The start date of the research internship cannot be later than 1st November 2023.

Financial Benefits: The students will get a stipend of 60 CHF/day from the first to the last day in the University. 2 additional days would be counted for arrival and departure. (Maximum CHF 5400).

Greetings Second and Third yearties!

A good curriculum serves as one of the most important factors of quality education. Being aware of the curriculum helps in developing oneself as a dynamic and active learner. It also aids in making well-informed decisions (and good choices) concerning courses and other opportunities offered.

The UG Academic Council takes pleasure in bringing to you a curriculum explanation session. The session will help you gain an understanding of the curriculum which shall, in turn, prove to be beneficial for you in planning for your courses and various other opportunities that would come your way in the future.
This session would be very informative and equally important. All students should attend it for sure.

Credit Basket System.
Distribution of Credits
The Concept of Minor (and Major)
The B.Tech (Honours) Degree

Greetings everyone!
UGAC takes immense pleasure in congratulating Utkarsh Jain, an eminent alumnus of IIT Mandi. He majored in Computer Sciences at the institute during 2017-21 and now shall be pursuing MS in Computer Science at UC San Diego.
