In 2010, I started my first nonprofit: Raine for Water. Our mission was to bring awareness to the global water crisis by producing shows and events that brought out underrated talent from across Toronto to stages that educated and raised funds for clean water and conservation initiatives. I had no idea what I was doing. I was 18 and graduating high school, but I knew that I wanted to lead a life of purpose and fulfillment that continually addressed and solved global issues. This organization went through SO many transformations. It changed names. Missions. Teams. Locations. And, as I'm sure you can guess, no longer exists 13 years later. Yet, this project was so monumental to my growth as an Impact Leader, a social entrepreneur, a facilitator, and living a conscious lifestyle. Did I think it would be successful and I would be able to lead it as my full-time job? Absolutely. Did I fail? Absolutely not. You will start 100 projects and not succeed in 99 of them. Being an Impact Leader means learning from your "failures", mentors, peers, and continually educating yourself on the needs of today and tomorrow. It's a journey with no timeline.
