The Islamic University aims at bringing up a younger generation of Islamic scholars well-equipped with modern tools of knowledge. It has a unique system of education where a student admitted to the institute after five years of primary education has to go for 12 years of education (2+4+4+2 Preliminary, Special Secondary, Degree, Masters). After 12 years of education the student will come out as Master of Islamic Studies & Arabic Language with good command of English and Urdu languages. TheIslamic University differs from other traditional Islamic institutions in Kerala as other institution may offer only religious studies while the Academy offers a unique curriculum combining religious and secular studies and giving emphasis on different languages. As a result the scholars studied in the Academy could get wide acceptance[citation needed]in Keralite Muslim Community and more and more institutions started to change their curriculmn and accept the Darul Huda Model.
