Sharing some glimpses of one of our most exciting events- the Annual Student Union Body Elections!

With spirited campaigns, debates, awareness sessions, long hours of balloting and the anticipation of vote counting, the days were definitely longer but the enthusiasm and energy across our campus made every moment worthwhile. What unfolded in these days was a beautiful exercise in participation, responsibility, and confidence among our Hummingbirds. The agendas envisioned by the newly elected Student Body reflected both care and imagination from creating a greener campus and improving shared spaces to strengthening infrastructure that ensures a more supportive and inclusive environment for every student.

After all this was over, we were definitely left with the thought of how important it is for children to grow up knowing, learning and practicing that their voices matter and they can shape and lead in the spaces they belong to, for themselves and for others.

The many 'rongs' (colours) of Hummingbirds as we came together to observe and celebrate ‘Bohagi Bidai’ on our campus. In the bihugeet we sang, the bihu dances we shared, the spirit of Bohag was felt with much warmth and love!

Bohagi Bidai was one of the first events we were able to hold after reopening our campus for the new academic session and it was nothing but truly magical and special! We look forward to sharing more of our planned events for the year ahead!

Hostel Admission Notice – Academic Year 2026 (Only for LKG students)

The Hummingbird School invites applications for admission to its hostel for the academic year 2026-27. Admission will be granted only after careful review, home visit and consideration and the school’s decision will be final.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- The child should come from a single-parent household, orphaned children with a guardian, or children whose parents are differently abled or suffering from chronic illness.
- The child must be from a low-income economic family background.
- The child should be from Majuli district or nearby areas.
- The child must be between 3.5 years and 5 years of age as of March 2026.

Application Deadline
3rd February 2026

Please note: Girl children will be given priority.
Parents/guardians are advised to visit the school in person for the application process.

For many children here, books, stories, authors, and creative spaces are rare. Their worlds are shaped by rivers, ferries, and fields, but their imaginations deserve to travel far beyond. AMMO gives them that chance, a space to dream, create, and express themselves with confidence and joy.

📸 Calling photographers and videographers! 🎥

We’re looking for passionate creators to capture AMMO – our Children’s Literary Festival and Annual Theatre Productions, happening 19–21 December in Majuli, Assam.

What we need:
• Photography: Edited photos of all events across the 3 festival days
• Videography:
 – A 3–5 min teaser for each day (19–21 Dec)
 – Raw footage of both theatre productions
• Additional:
 – Arrive 16 Dec to settle in and understand event flow
 – Shoot BTS for a 2-min video
 – Record tech rehearsals on 17 and 18 Dec (raw footage)

Location preference: Creators based in Upper Assam or Guwahati, as long-distance travel may be challenging.

We provide: Accommodation, local transport, and travel to Majuli (train/bus).

Budget: Modest (community-led, not-for-profit event).
