Nima Gyalpo Thapa

Hailing from namchi and currently student of SMIT is one true king of Origami.

Nima started working on his origami skills back in 2010 after being diagnosed with ADHD. It helped him keep his hyperactivity in check.

His love for Origami enforced him to make more intricate models and eventually it also helped in the Orgami club of his school.

These pieces of Origami Models take hours of assembly. Multiple pages are folded and assembled together to achieve one final model.

Nima conducts Origami workshops in SMIT and he has been a keen participant of the past 3 art festivals known as Shades at SMIT.

Team Artisti wishes him all the very best for his future endeavors.

Colorology

Why is it that everyone who sees a rainbow must stop and look? Not only must they look but they must show someone too.

Colorology is the science of colors. Colors play a major role in your life. They empower us and shape our mood and mold our attitude.

Once I attended an art workshop in the mountains of New York in the USA. I met two amazing artists with a rare gift. They had the ability to smell colors.

When their backs were turned, if someone new walked in the room they could tell what colors the person was wearing; without seeing them.

It was a gift they had since childhood. It enabled them to be master artists.

What if no boundaries exist concerning color in our lives?

What if the color of our clothes do more than make us look cute? What if they provide a certain power or aura?

Colorology is understanding the 7 basic colors and applying those colors to the way we work, play, and pray.

There's no telling how far we can go once the boundary lines have been erased.

I do not suggest you believe my story of the two artists. Instead I suggest you test it.

Let your heart and mind run free one day. Explore the colors of life with your nose and not your eyes.

See if you sense a spiritual power with color; something you can feel.

Feel the impact of the color light blue. It has as an impact on your speaking ability.

Feel the impact of the color orange as it builds your willpower and develops your determination to survive that day's struggles.

Embrace the majesty of the color purple as you lead your team to the next level of success.

Colors are empowering. They empower us to be our best. They uplift us during dark times. Colors light up the world!

A profound Chef of Sikkim reveals her incredible artistic talent.

Mrs. Nandika Pradhan, a benevolent chef cm owner of the Bardang Restaurant, Bardang, East Sikkim, has revealed her hobby of painting beautiful madhubani art.

Apart from cooking and serving delicious food to the visiting students from the nearby schools and colleges in Bardang, Mrs. Nandika Pradhan also excels in her hobby of this ancient artform which is practiced since ages in the regions of Nepal and Mithilia.
She paints with fingers, threads, twigs and uses other traditional techniques to achieve the outstanding patterns on the surface of bedsheets and pillow covers. The art includes a combination of natural colours and fabric paints.

She received her basic training from her friends living in Kolkata, and her interest grew profoundly in the artform. Later she conducted workshops on madhubani painting in Kalimpong and in some parts of Kolkata.

As the days pass by, she aspires to continue the workshops and preserve this magnificent ancient artform of Madhubani Painting in Sikkim.
