Congratulations to Our Distinguished Alumnus!
The Alumni Engagement Cell, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Atam Hayat, Registration No. 200615011, alumnus of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Batch 2010, on receiving the prestigious Emerging Leader of the Year Award at the ITP MEP Middle East Awards 2026, held at Ritz-Carlton, Jumeirah, Dubai, on 30 September 2026.

The award recognises emerging leadership excellence in the construction sector across the Middle East and Africa.

We are proud of this remarkable achievement and wish Mr. Hayat continued success in his professional journey.

SMIT Alumni Scaling New Heights

The Alumni Engagement Cell, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Satyarup Siddhanta, SMIT alumnus (B.Tech., CSE, Batch 2005), on his successful ascent of Chang Chenmo Kangri (6,536 m) in Eastern Ladakh on 11 September 2026.

A distinguished mountaineer and Guinness World Records holder, Mr. Siddhanta continues to inspire through his remarkable achievements in mountaineering and exploration. His accomplishment once again brings pride to the SMIT alumni community.

We congratulate him on this remarkable feat and wish him continued success in his future expeditions.

The Alumni Engagement Cell, SMIT, had the pleasure of welcoming Shri Dadi Ram Dhakal, a distinguished Civil Engineering professional with extensive experience in government service, municipal engineering, water-resource management, and sustainable urban infrastructure, during his visit to Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.

As part of the visit, Shri Dhakal was received and felicitated by the Alumni Engagement Cell in recognition of his professional achievements and continued association with his alma mater.

Alumni Engagement Cell, SMIT | Alumni Talk

The Alumni Engagement Cell, SMIT, in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, hosted an engaging Alumni Talk featuring Mr. Hari Om, B.Tech. (IT), SMIT, Batch 2020–2024, and Cybersecurity Expert at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Acceleration Center, Bengaluru.

The session provided students with valuable insights from his professional experience, encouraging them to connect academic learning with emerging industry practices and career opportunities.

The interaction also strengthened the enduring SMIT alumni connection, reflecting the Alumni Engagement Cell’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn from and engage with accomplished alumni.
