First General Body Meeting of the Jahal School Old Students' Association was held on 18.10.2018 in the Jahal High School premises. There were 81 participants. Considering the fact that this was the first meeting, the response was certainly overwhelming. The Governing Body of the Association consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and 10 members was elected for a term of two years up to 31.10.2020. The Rules & Regulations of the Association were discussed at length and approved.
The Governing Body will now take steps for registration of the Association under the Societies Registration Act.
The Jahal LP School started and the first batch took admission in the year 1960. The institution will complete 60 years in the year 2020. It was decided in the General Body Meeting to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee (60 years of the institution) in 2020.
All the members were requested to contribute to the 'Mo School Abhigyan' programme.
The first step in organising the Association has been taken. All of us should collectively take it further.
4th and 5th are UP. But the function will be celebrated by the entire institution including all those who have studied from Class-1 to Class-10. The school that started as LP school has gradually grown to High School. All of us are members of the same family. Further today both the primary branch and the high school branch has merged with each other and it is one institution now. All of us are old students of that one combined institution.
I don't understand why some have left the Whatsapp group. I spoke to some. They said it was by mistake. They were added back. Similar exercise may be carried out for other members wh have left. Their friends in the group may speak with them and try to find the reasons for their leaving. If they were not happy with certain things, we can take some corrective steps.
We may continue with our efforts to get more and more students in to the Whatsapp group so that communication with the easier and faster.

Upendra Sir's vision :
Career counselling is a very important area in which Association can make good contribution. The school students have very little idea about career options that would suit their aptitude. Even the parents sometimes find it difficult to guide their children. We can expose them to various career options and help them to take an informed decision.
Some old students can certainly help in development of students in the areas of say public speaking, debating, general knowledge, computer applications, etc.
We can conduct inter school debate, quizzes and similar activities.
Spoken English and good writing are other areas in which the association can organise activities.
