Hibiscus Foundation conducted the Mental Health and Cultural Fest, "Adaiyalam 2026" on 5th of July 2026. Adaiyalam is a movement rooted in health, identity and culture. 60 students accompanied by 4 staff members took part in the fest.

The theme ‘Illusion of Normality’ itself suggested how it created a space for the young people who can engage themselves with mental health in ways that feel accessible and relevant to their lives.

The event brought together mental health professionals, wellness organisations and young people through stalls, workshops and discussions.
Several stalls were designed to encourage self-reflection. Another attraction is The Love Hope Company’s “pause space”.

Beyond the workshops and stalls, the youth summit was the key highlight. The summit was aimed to gather insights from young people on the mental health challenges they face and the support they need.

Activities like dance and music therapy, dramatherapy, yoga, guided imagery sessions, a therapist finance workshop, and a theatre-based session exploring the intersections of mental health, caste and climate were included.

Interactive spaces were there and the students of our college had an interactive session with Ms. Aksheyaa Akilan, the founder of the House of Hibiscus and the fruitful day ended with the students taking a photograph with Ms. Aksheyaa Akilan.
