Japan-based Daikin Industries plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore to set up a state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) centre in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said.
Speaking after meeting a Japanese delegation in Chandigarh, Saini said the project will be located in Manesar and is expected to generate employment opportunities for more than 500 people. He added that the facility will be among the largest of its kind in India and will strengthen the state’s position as an industrial and innovation hub.
The investment follows a MoU signed during Saini’s visit to Japan in October last year. He said growing investor confidence among Japanese companies reflects improvements in the state’s business environment.
“The state government’s objective is to promote ease of doing business and reduce the cost of doing business. A single-window system has been implemented for the convenience of industrial investors, under which all required NOCs are provided at one place. This has simplified and expedited processes, increasing the attraction of foreign companies towards the state,” Saini added.
