Surgical Strike Day
On 29th September 2016, the Indian Army carried out a historic surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC). The mission came after the Uri terror attack on 18th September, where 19 brave soldiers lost their lives.
In response, our soldiers planned a high-risk, high-precision operation. Overnight, Indian commandos crossed the border, destroyed multiple terrorist launch pads, and returned safely without a single casualty.
This was not just a military victory—it was a message to the world that India will never tolerate terrorism and will act with courage and strategy.
Since 2017, September 29 has been observed as Surgical Strike Day, honoring the valor of our armed forces. Schools, colleges, and institutions conduct programs to salute the heroes in uniform.
Let’s take a moment today to remember their sacrifice and say with pride.
