Lady Ampthil Govt. School & College Lady Ampthil Govt. School & College Later, the school was taken over by the government in 1919 and upgraded it as a higher secondary school.

According to the historical records, the Lady Ampthill's is one of the oldest girls' schools in town which was founded by Sri Kumbhakonam Krishnamachary in 1892. The school was established in a view of facilitating and encouraging girls' primary education which led a controversy at that time and people called it as Jenda (flag) School. A junior college was conjoined to the school in 1969 and many

Happy Teacher's Day to All . The best teacher of my school life is Ramatilakam teacher ... She taught me so much as painting, gardening, stitching , values , scouts n guides, love ... so much ....... made me happy always ... I get goose bumps to think of teachers like this !!! Lucky to have studied in a GOVT school ... what felt for some as cheap... had been most precious for many of us ...the lush greenery , fresh air , simplicity , lot of extra-curr. activities , sports, NCC .. what not ..teacher's here taught us alot .. Deep Regards to ALL ... love , Gomata
