Mid-semester examination conducted at GNKCW
Mid-semester examinations were conducted in the college from March 19 to April 4, 2026, in order to prepare students for the Panjab University Final Examination slated for May 2026. Under the guidance of the college Prinicipal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon, the Controller of Examination, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Dr. Gagneet Pal Kaur and the college Registrar, Mrs. Seema Dua coordinated the conduct of the examinations.

Students of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana, brought laurels to the college by obtaining excellent result in M.Com- 1st Semester Examinations held in December, 2025.
Mansi Jain bagged 1st position in the College by scoring 85.14% marks. Manroop Kaur bagged 2nd position in the college by scoring 84.57% while Ramandeep Kaur secured 3rd position in the College by scoring 84.29%. Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon congratulated the students for their outstanding performance.

The Red Ribbon Club of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, Ludhiana, observed World Tuberculosis Day with the objective of spreading awareness about tuberculosis and promoting preventive healthcare practices among students.
On this occasion, the club coordinators, Dr. Nidhi Sharma and Ms. Daisy Wadhwa, conducted an informative session to sensitize students about the importance of awareness regarding tuberculosis (TB). They highlighted the significance of early detection, common symptoms, modes of transmission, and effective preventive measures to curb the spread of the disease. The session also focused on the availability of free and accessible treatment options, emphasizing that tuberculosis is both preventable and curable with timely medical intervention.
Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon encouraged students to actively participate in awareness campaigns and to disseminate correct information within their communities, thereby contributing to the national mission of eliminating tuberculosis.

Sharan Kaur bagged 2nd position in the college by scoring 83.62% while Dilshan Kaur secured 3rd position in the College by scoring 83.05%. The students of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, proudly participated in the Inter-College Competition organized by Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana, on 16th March 2026. Five students from the Departments of Fashion Designing and Home Science showcased their exceptional talent and creativity in various events and brought laurels to the institution by securing the following positions:
• Face Painting – 1st Prize won by Baneet Kaur
• Hairstyling – 2nd Prize won by Yogita Arora
• Mehndi Designing – 3rd Prize won by Varinda
• Makeup – Consolation Prize won by Tarannum
• Nail Art – Consolation Prize won by Hansika
The students were accompanied and guided by Mrs. Gursharan Kaur (Department of Fine Arts) and Mrs. Manmeet Kaur (Department of Fashion Designing).

Under the aegis of IQAC, a one-day educational trip to Wonderland Theme Park was organized on March 16, 2026, for 102 students from various streams.
The trip commenced with a delightful breakfast at Haveli, where students enjoyed traditional cuisine in a vibrant and culturally rich ambience before proceeding to the theme park.
Upon reaching Wonderland, students enthusiastically explored a variety of dry rides and boating activities. The roller coaster, toy train, and other exciting attractions were among the major highlights. The discotheque at the park drew many students, who danced energetically to lively music, creating a cheerful and vibrant atmosphere.
After lunch at Wonderland, the students spent an enjoyable time at the water park section. They splashed in the pools, danced to music, and experienced thrilling water slides. For those who preferred a more relaxed setting, the beautifully maintained gardens and food stalls provided a pleasant space to unwind.
The final stop of the day was Eastwood Village, where students enjoyed shopping and an evening stroll. They captured numerous photographs to preserve the memorable moments of the trip.
The smiles on the students’ faces reflected the joy and camaraderie fostered during the excursion. It was heartening to see students from different classes and backgrounds bonding and creating lasting memories together.
The accompanying teachers—Mrs. Shikha Kalra, Dr. Shikha Bajaj, Mrs. Yukti Khurana, Ms. Harshu, Ms. Amarpreet, and Ms. Pooja—ensured the students’ safety and comfort throughout the day.
Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon remarked that the trip not only provided fun and entertainment but also emphasized the importance of teamwork, friendship, and shared experiences. As the day concluded, everyone returned with hearts full of happiness and countless stories to cherish.

Under the aegis of IQAC, a one-day trip to Fun City Chandigarh and Nada Sahib Gurudwara was organized on March 16, 2026. A total of 107 students and 6 faculty members embarked on this memorable excursion, which aimed to provide both spiritual enrichment and recreational relaxation.
The journey began early in the morning, with the group departing with enthusiasm and excitement. The students enjoyed breakfast at Raj Royal Dhaba. After breakfast, the next destination was Nada Sahib Gurudwara, a revered Sikh pilgrimage site located in Panchkula. Upon arrival, the group paid their respects and immersed themselves in the peaceful and spiritual environment of the Gurudwara. The serene atmosphere, melodious Gurbani, and collective prayers offered a deeply calming and reflective experience for everyone.
Following the spiritual visit, the group proceeded to Fun City in Chandigarh, a popular amusement and water park. The atmosphere quickly shifted from serene to lively as students engaged in various thrilling rides and water activities. From wave pools to water slides, the park provided ample opportunities for enjoyment and bonding. Laughter and joy filled the air as everyone took a refreshing break from routine academic life.
The trip successfully combined devotion and entertainment, leaving participants refreshed and enriched. It also fostered stronger bonds among students and teachers beyond the classroom setting.
The teachers who accompanied the students throughout the trip included Dr. Anu Gupta, Mrs. Monica Sharma, Mrs. Blossom, Mrs. Chakshu, Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, and Ms. Arshnoor.

Under the aegis of IQAC, the Department of Economics, Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, Ludhiana, observed World Consumer Rights Day on 18 March 2025 with great enthusiasm and academic fervour.
Mrs. Seema Dua, Head of the Department of Economics, highlighted the theme of the day and elaborated on the objectives behind celebrating World Consumer Rights Day. She emphasized the importance of consumer awareness in today’s dynamic market environment and encouraged students to become informed and responsible consumers.
Mrs. Neha Dawar shared her views on consumer rights, explaining in detail the fundamental rights guaranteed to consumers and the mechanisms available for redressal of grievances. Her session helped students understand how awareness can protect them from unfair trade practices.
Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon addressed the gathering and underscored the significance of understanding consumer rights in everyday life. She stressed that informed consumers are empowered citizens and play a vital role in ensuring ethical business practices and a fair marketplace. Sixty eight students and faculty members attended this event.

Under the aegis of IQAC, the NSS Unit of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women organized an awareness drive aimed at sensitizing students about the critical importance of water conservation. The initiative was designed to instill a sense of responsibility among students regarding the judicious use of water, which is one of the most precious and rapidly depleting natural resources.
During the program, students were made aware of the alarming consequences of water scarcity and the urgent need to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives. The drive emphasized that every individual effort counts in preserving this vital resource for future generations.
To encourage active participation, students were invited to express their thoughts and creativity by writing impactful slogans on the theme “Save Water.” This activity not only enhanced their understanding of the issue but also allowed them to communicate powerful messages about conservation in an engaging and meaningful way.
The event was further enriched by an inspiring address delivered by Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon. Khanak bagged 1st position in college by scoring 87.78%. Ishpreet Kaur secured 2nd position in college by scoring 87.56% while Sheenam Goyal secured 3rd position in college by obtaining 86.22%.

Under the aegis of IQAC, a staff meeting regarding the conduct of the Mid-Semester Examinations (MSTs) was convened by the Code of Conduct Committee of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana on 18 March 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Principal, Dr. Maneeta Kahlon.
In her address, she emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and transparency during the examination process. She urged all faculty members and staff to remain vigilant and attentive while performing their examination duties to ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the MSTs. Special emphasis was laid on strict adherence to examination protocols and institutional guidelines.
Furthermore, the staff were advised to strictly follow the college’s Code of Conduct throughout the examination period. They were encouraged to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, professionalism, and impartially, thereby upholding the reputation and academic standards of the institution.

Under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, the Department of History, along with the NCC Wing and NSS Unit of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, Ludhiana, organized a Poster Making Competition to pay tribute to the great freedom fighters Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased their creativity and patriotism through impactful posters highlighting the courage, sacrifice, and ideals of these national heroes. It was followed by an extension lecture highlighting the historical significance of Martyr’s Day and the enduring legacy of the freedom fighters.
Principal Dr. Maneeta Kahlon addressed the students and spoke about the invaluable contributions of the freedom fighters in securing the nation’s independence. She emphasized the need for the younger generation to imbibe their principles of bravery, selflessness, and dedication in their daily lives.
