G.G.N Public School, Rose Garden, Ludhiana organized an Inter- School Shabad Gayan contest on 16th November,18 , in the fond memory of Giani Raghbir Singh, one of the founder members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Ludhiana. S. Sukhwant Singh, Chairman Baba Sucha Singh Gurmat Sangeet Academy , Jandiala Guru , Amritsar was the Chief Guest of this occasion. The management members extended a floral welcome to him. Principal Ms. Gunmeet Kaur welcomed the President -S. Gursharan Singh Narula, Hony. General Secretary Dr. S.P. Singh, S. Bhagwant Singh and S. Kuljeet Singh- Vice Presidents, S. Hardip Singh and dignitaries from Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Ludhiana and all the participating teams in the contest . 10 teams of reputed schools of Ludhiana participated in this prestigious contest. All the participants rendered Shabads based on the ragas as set in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji and created the divine ambience.The Chief Guest on the occasion , S. Sukhwant Singh , Chairman Baba Sucha Singh Gurmat Sangeet Academy , Jandiala Guru , Amritsar enriched the audience with his inspirational views on the subject of Gurmat Sangeet. Addressing the gathering, he said that the participation of students in such devotional and musical events elevates them spiritually and ethically.He gave away the prizes to the winners and congratulated them for performing well. The Chief Guest and the judges were honoured with mementoes by the honorable members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Ludhiana.

First prize was bagged by team of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School. First Runners up trophy was won by team of Guru Nanak International Public School, Second Runners up trophy was clinched by team of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, Ludhiana.

On this special occasion, Grandson S. Swarpreet Singh and Grand daughter-in-law Sardarni Ramanpreet Kaur of Giani Raghbir Singh introduced cash prize of Rs. 3100/- each as a token of motivation to Best Tabla Player-Harasis Singh of Guru Nanak International Public School, Best Harmonium player- Prabhjeet Kaur of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School and Best Performer Sehajpreet Kaur of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, Ludhiana. The cash prize was given by Dr. S.P. Singh, Hony Gen. Secretary, GKEC.

Gujranwala Guru Nanak Public School, Rose Garden, Ludhiana celebrated Children’s Day today with great fun. A special morning assembly was organized by the teachers to mark the occasion and to make the children feel special. Contrary to the routine assembly, the teachers recited the Shabad and presented a talk, fun filled news and cartoon quiz which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. The teachers dedicated a beautiful song, “Chhoti si Asha” to the children. Principal Mrs. Gunmeet Kaur threw light on the importance of Children’s day. She motivated students to be good and alert human beings, and she rewarded the students who were well acquainted with their surroundings. Students of Pre-Primary section enjoyed various fun filled races like block building race, back race, optical race, hurdle race etc. Special screening of a highly motivating and wonderful movie, “ I am Kalam” by smile foundation based on the menace of ‘Child Labour’ was successful in inculcating various skills and moral values amongst the children. This beautiful day left an everlasting impressions and memories in the minds of children which they are going to cherish in the years to come.

Janam Ashtami, birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with divine fervor at G.G.N Public School, Rose Garden , Ludhiana on 1st September, 18 . The students were filled with great energy, enthusiasm and gaiety on this divine occasion . The Primary Section of the school bore a festive look as the classrooms were decorated with buntings and colourful earthen pots .The little kids decked up as Lord Krishna and Radhas looked adorable and spread a wave of festivity all around . In the special morning assembly, organized to mark the occasion , the teachers delivered speeches and threw a flood of light on the life and great teachings of Lord Krishna . The students of Baba Deep Singh House recited poems highlighting the significance of the religious festival of Janam Ashtami . The colourful choreography performed on the songs dedicated to the Lord stole the hearts of everyone . Principal of the school Ms. Gunmeet Kaur , extended her warm greetings to the teachers and students on this auspicious occasion and said that we must embrace and follow the teachings of Lord Krishna in our lives, who always stressed on the faithful discharge of one’s duties without contemplating of the fruit of the hard work . The lively celebrations were enjoyed by everyone and made the day memorable and special .

Festivals add colour and cheer to our life. They are celebrations of togetherness and strong bonds. Rakhsha Bandhan is one such festival which fosters an undying and divine relationship among brothers & Sisters. G.G.N. Public School celebrated Raksha Bandhan with great enthusiasm and fervor. A special morning assembly was organized on this occasion comprised of beautiful dance, a short play and poem recitation by students. Kindergarten students surprised everyone by reciting a beautiful poem on Rakhi. Principal Mrs. Gunmeet Kaur emphasized to celebrate this festival in its true spirit shunning the materialistic approach. She further added that this festival should give a message of humanity and all females should be safe always. Later in the day, an Inter Class Rakhi making competition was organized for junior students. Students showcased their talent, innovation and creativity in making beautiful Rakhis. Some students were awarded prizes for making unique Rakhis.

G.G.N Public School, Ludhiana celebrated Independence day with unprecedented patriotic fervor on 14th August,18 . The primary section of the school bore a festive look as the classrooms were decorated with tri -colored flags and balloons. A special morning assembly and gamut of enriching activities organized on this occasion filled everyone with pure patriotism. The teachers and students presented informative speeches and poems highlighting the significance of Independence Day in our lives . A spellbound group dance presented by the girls of Hari Singh Nalwa House captivated the audience and stirred love of the motherland in their hearts . To mark the occasion , an Inter- House Group song competition was also organized on this day in which the students sang patriotic songs , saluting their motherland for her great tryst with destiny and indomitable courage . Akali Phula Singh House emerged as winner of this contest whereas Baba Deep Singh House was declared as First Runner up . The students and the teachers presented enriching speeches saluting the great freedom fighters who laid their precious lives for her freedom and soaked everyone in the colours of patriotism. In her inspiring and motivational speech, Principal of the school Ms. Gunmeet Kaur told the students that we should serve our motherland India with heart , body , mind and soul to bring it glory and laurels with our noble and dignified deeds . It was an enriching and memorable day for everyone .

Teej celebration at GGN Public School, Rose Garden, Ludhiana

It was all fun and frolic when GGN Kids celebrated Teej Festival today. Dressed in beautiful traditional attire Patiala suits, phulkaris and parandis and beautiful traditional jewellery like tikka, kaintha etc students thronged to celebrate Teej. Many extinct traditional games like stapu, pithoo, kotla chhapaaki were organized for the students to make them aware of rich cultural heritage. They enjoyed the swing rides and performed Giddha singing various bolis themselves and they danced to the foot tapping Punjabi numbers. The students relished the Punjabi delicacies like Maal-pure and Kheer in their tiffins. The festival culminated with Principal Mrs. Gunmeet Kaur’s message to keep the traditional festivals and celebrations alive.

“Festival of Forests’’ was celebrated in G.G.N. Public School, Rose Garden , Ludhiana.

An awareness drive was observed in the school for the students of Primary section. An Exclusive Premier of the movie “A Little Gardener” directed by S. Satdeep Singh was screened for junior students to sensitize them about the significance of trees. Some of the students became emotional after watching the movie. The festival culminated with planting of saplings by the students along with their teachers and Principal Mrs. Gunmeet Kaur. A rally was organised by the students to create awareness amongst the citizens of the locality. The festival ended successfully with a note ‘Clean India, Green India’ and ‘Save the Green Gold’
