🇮🇳 Independence Day Celebration at GNPS Sarabha Nagar 🇮🇳
Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting by Chief Guest Mr Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Member (NISD) and Special Member (NCCDR), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, in the presence of Guest of Honour Mr Hamraj Singh Cheema, Probationary Sub-Inspector, a proud alumnus of GNPS Sarabha Nagar. The occasion was graced by S. Surinder Singh, General Secretary, GNPS Management Committee; Mrs Amarjit, Member, Management Committee and Principal, Dr Ginakshi Kapoor along with NCC cadets.
The programme featured Independence Day speeches in English and Punjabi, followed by engaging Singing and Dance Competition for Classes IX–XII. The singing competition was judged by Mr Savneet Singh and Mr Simranjit Singh.Mr. Savneet Singh is an independent singer, songwriter and composer known for his soulful, melody-driven music.
With 11+ original songs and 5M+ streams across platforms. S. Simranjit Singh Ji is a gifted vocalist and accomplished exponent of Gurmat Sangeet and an established educator.Dance Competition was judged by Ms Shubhjit Kaur and Ms Rashi Narula.Ms. Shubhjeet Kaur, is a distinguished Kathak exponent, international performer and ICCR-empanelled artist. A Gold Medalist in Indian Classical and Folk Dance, she has also showcased her exceptional artistry on esteemed platforms such as DID Super Moms. Ms. Rashi Narula is a passionate Kathak dancer, choreographer and dance educator and represented India on prestigious national and international platforms and has appeared on shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Chak Dhoom Dhoom.
The kindergarteners brought the freedom struggle to life through portrayals of Sarojini Naidu, S. Udham Singh and Rani Lakshmibai. Patriotic group songs and Jaijit’s classical dance performance further enhanced the spirit of the occasion.
Mr Sukhwinder Singh Bindra felicitated the winners and in his address he encouraged the students to develop an all-round personality, stay away from drugs and social evils, and actively participate in sports. He also announced the donation of 20 sports kits for the students.
The programme continued with the bestowal of designation badges to the staff, symbolising their respective roles and responsibilities. Principal Dr Ginakshi Kapoor urged students to cultivate the habit of reading, broaden their horizons and continuously enhance their skills.
A special Oath Ceremony against Drug Addiction organised in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris, inspired students to make healthy and responsible choices.
The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone with renewed pride, patriotism and responsibility towards the nation. Results of the competition are as follows
