GRD Academy, Ludhiana

Grd academy Ludhiana was once again abuzz with activities on 15March, 2017. As, the new Academic Session 2017-18 for class XII commenced with vigor and enthusiasm. The day begins with Japji sahib path in school Gurudwara for the success of GRDians. The students were very excited to began there new Session. They entered the portals of school with new dreams in their eyes
Chairman Sardar Raja Singh ji and Vice Chairman Sardar Inderjeet Singh ji encouraged the students to excel in their future endeavors.School Director Mrs. Navneet Kaur welcome the students and extended their blessings by wishing them best of luck for the coming session. The path culminated with distribution of Prasad.

To mark the closure of academic session 2016-17, GRD Academy Ludhiana organized Sukhmani Sahib Path in school premises on 09/03/17. The program further commenced with Shabad recited by teachers and students to seek blessings of God for the upcoming Final Exams. The celebrations culminated with distribution of Prashad after Anand Sahib Path.

CLASS XI of GRD ACADEMY, Ludhiana organized a farewell party for Class XII on 3/3/17 in school premises. It was a day of nostalgia and reminiscence for outgoing class. School management, principal and teachers showered their blessings on the outgoing students for their success in upcoming exams and life ahead. Dresses in their best attire, the students walked the ramp to receive their titles. The students witnessed a tough competition as the 3 rounds tested their wit, presence of mind and selection of vocabulary.
Dances, fun games and songs added life to the party. The most valuable titles Mr and Ms.GRD were bagged by Arshdeep Singh and Mehak Sharma.
There were many other titles like: Best Attire, Sparkling Eyes, Ms.Glowing Face, Mr.Charming and Million Dollar Smile bagged by NavneetKaur, Krishleen, AmandeepKaur and Ranbir Singh and Nishant respectively.
School Principal Mr.Parampreet Singh Grewal appreciated the efforts of students of class XI for organizing a good show and gave away the prizes to the winners. The inevitable Bhangra was cheered loudly and greeted with a thunderous applause.

A calligraphy competition was organized in GRD Academy for Kindergarten on 21st February, 2017 aiming to encourage children to write neatly and present the content in proper manner. First, second , Third and consolation prizes were given to students from Nursery , L.K.G and U.K.G. The winners were rewarded with Gifts and Certificate by worthy Vice Principal Sir.

To bid the farewell to Kindergarten Students a “Farewell Party” was organized in the campus of GRD Academy on 23rd February, 2017 by the little tiny tots of Nursery and LKG. This party was organized for the young ones of UKG who have been waiting for three years to go outside the kindergarten & join the Primary wing. The function started with the Ganesh Vandana which was performed by UKG class. After that various eye catching performances were performed by the little ones of Nursery & LKG. A ramp walk was organized for UKG Students in which various titles such as Best Outfit, Mr.& Ms.Confident, Best Presentation, Best Smile, Mr. & Ms.GRD were awarded. Yash*ta Bhandari and Aarav Bhatta bagged the Ms.& Mr.GRD titles. Principal Mr.Parampreet Singh Grewal addressed the gathering and blessed the students for their bright future.The function culminated with distribution of Gifts, Refreshments and trophies were given to students as a token of love and memory.

# THOUGHT OF THE DAY

Ravidas Jayanti is the birthday of Saint Ravidas Ji who lived during the period of Kabirdas. He was born in 1376 in Kanshi village to Santokh Dass and Kalsa Devi. Ravidas belonged to Harijan family and was treated as untouchable. Ravidas Ji was a great Saint, poet, philosopher, social reformer and follower of the God. Ravidas was one of the famous and leading stars of the nirguna sampradaya. Ravidas worked for the Hindu-Muslim unity. Ravidas wrote several hymns in praise of God. Ravidas devoted his entire life fighting against injustice based on caste and class. The preaching’s of Guru Ravidas are formed in 'Shabds', which are part of the Shri Guru Granth Sahib where 40 Shabds are directly of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. This Shabds cannot be read alone, it has to be combined with the teaching of other gurus teachings also. Attempts were made to remove the 40 Shabds from the book and to make it an individual book by well known priests, who were assassinated. The sign for the Ravidassia community is 'Har' which refers to 'ALL'.
