Struggling to paraphrase IELTS Writing Task 2 questions without changing the meaning? This guide shows you how to transform simple Band 5-style sentences into stronger Band 9-style expressions using better vocabulary, natural collocations, precise language and academic sentence structures. 🎯

Instead of repeating basic phrases like “people think,” “technology is important,” “many problems,” or “a big problem,” learn to use more sophisticated alternatives such as “is widely regarded as,” “a crucial part of modern life,” “a range of significant issues,” and “a serious issue.”

📌 These paraphrasing techniques can help you improve:

✅ IELTS Writing Task 2 introductions
✅ Paraphrasing skills
✅ Academic vocabulary
✅ Sentence variety
✅ Lexical Resource
✅ Grammar Range & Accuracy
✅ Overall writing coherence

💡 Remember: A high-band paraphrase should sound natural, accurate and relevant. Don’t use complicated words just to sound advanced—use vocabulary that fits the context.

Every day, I meet students who believe they're "not good enough" for IELTS.

Most of the time, that's not true.

They've simply been taught the wrong way.

As an Ex-IELTS Examiner, I've seen students spend months memorising answers, learning endless vocabulary lists, and practising for hours—yet their scores barely improve.

The reason?

IELTS doesn't reward how much you study.

It rewards how well you understand the test.

That's why every reel I share here has one purpose: ✔️ Explain a concept clearly. ✔️ Help you avoid common mistakes. ✔️ Give you practical strategies you can use immediately.

If even one tip from this reel helps you feel more confident before your exam, then it's done its job.

💬 I'd love to know: Which IELTS module do you find the most challenging? Reading, Listening, Writing or Speaking?

Your answers help me create videos that solve real problems—not just add more content to your feed.

📌 Save this reel so you can come back to it before your next practice session.

📤 Share it with a friend who's preparing for IELTS. Sometimes one simple strategy can make all the difference.

If you're looking for personalised guidance rather than generic advice, I also offer: • One-to-one and group coaching • Detailed Writing & Speaking evaluations • Examiner-style study materials

Feel free to send me a message whenever you're ready. There's no pressure—I'm always happy to point you in the right direction.

⚠️ Your IELTS Speaking answer may sound “correct” — and still be keeping you at a LOW BAND.

😳 The scary part? Most students don’t realise what’s missing until they see what a HIGH-BAND answer does differently.

If you’re preparing for IELTS Speaking for study abroad, don’t make the mistake of thinking:

❌ Longer answer = higher band
❌ Difficult vocabulary = Band 8
❌ Memorised phrases = impressive English

A high-band answer sounds different because the candidate shows control.

🎯 They answer the question directly.
🧠 They develop the idea naturally.
🗣️ They use flexible vocabulary instead of memorised “big words.”
🔗 They connect ideas without forcing linking phrases.
✨ They sound fluent, spontaneous and precise.

That’s the difference I’m showing you in this reel:

LOW-BAND ANSWER ➡️ HIGH-BAND ANSWER

And notice something important…

The better answer isn’t necessarily full of complicated English.

It simply uses better English, better development and better control.

As an Ex-IELTS Examiner, this is what I want IELTS candidates to understand:

👉 Don’t ask, “How can I make my answer sound difficult?”

Ask:

“How can I make my answer sound natural, developed and precise?”

That shift can completely change the way you prepare for the IELTS Speaking test.

🎯 YOUR TURN

After watching the reel, tell me:

What is ONE difference you noticed between the low-band and high-band answer?

👇 Write it in the comments.

📌 SAVE this reel before your next IELTS Speaking practice.

Do you know the difference between go, get, and keep? Learning common English collocations can help you sound more natural, fluent, and confident in everyday conversations — and they are especially useful for IELTS Speaking and Writing.

📚 Learn useful combinations such as:
👉 go abroad, go shopping, go bankrupt, go missing
👉 get ahead, get a job, get upset, get married
👉 keep up with, keep a promise, keep in touch, keep going

💡 IELTS Tip: Don’t learn vocabulary as isolated words. Learn words together in natural phrases and collocations so you can use them accurately and fluently in the exam.

📌 Save this post and practise these collocations every day.
