The Alumni Association of Unity P.G. College, Lucknow organised an Alumni Interactive Session on the theme “Future Career Prospects of Undergraduate & Postgraduate Students” on 1 October 2026 at the college premises.

The session featured Mr. Syed Abbas Rizvi, Director, Industrial Services and Trading, Advanced Energy Technologies Company (Entech), Saudi Arabia, as the Alumni Guest Speaker. He interacted with students and shared valuable insights into emerging career opportunities, professional development, industry expectations and the importance of acquiring relevant skills for a successful career.

The session provided students with an enriching opportunity to learn from the professional experiences of an accomplished alumnus and to gain practical guidance for making informed decisions regarding their future academic and career pathways. The interactive discussion was engaging and well received by the students.

The college expresses its special thanks to Dr. Dinar Fatima for her sincere efforts and dedicated coordination in organising the session successfully. The college also extends its gratitude to Mr. Syed Abbas Rizvi for sharing his valuable expertise and inspiring the students through his professional journey.

On 24 September, 2026, Unity P.G. College, Lucknow celebrated NSS Day with enthusiasm and active participation of NSS volunteers and students. The programme was organised to highlight the objectives and significance of the National Service Scheme, particularly its commitment to community service, social responsibility, leadership, and nation-building.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. G. K. Dhuriya, NSS Nodal Officer, who addressed the students and explained the role of NSS in developing a spirit of service, discipline, empathy and responsibility among young people. He encouraged the students to actively participate in community-oriented activities and contribute towards the welfare of society.

The students participated enthusiastically in the programme and reflected upon the importance of voluntary service and their responsibilities towards society. The celebration provided an opportunity for NSS volunteers to reaffirm their commitment to the core motto of NSS, “Not Me But You.”

Socratic Symposium – Chapter II | Unity P.G. College

Unity P.G. College, Lucknow successfully hosted Socratic Symposium – Chapter II on 19 September 2026, organised by the Literary Club. The symposium revolved around the thought-provoking theme:

“Beauty Is Not Innocent, It Is Political.”

The event provided an intellectually stimulating platform for students to question, reason, debate, and exchange perspectives. Through meaningful dialogue and engaging arguments, the symposium encouraged critical thinking, independent expression, and collaborative learning.

An Insightful Visit to the National Lok Adalat at District & Sessions Court, Lucknow

Date: 12 September 2026

The Legal Aid Society of the College, organised an educational visit for law students to the National Lok Adalat at the District & Sessions Court, Lucknow, on 12 September 2026.

The visit provided students with valuable practical exposure to the functioning of Lok Adalats and the grassroots delivery of justice, enabling them to connect classroom learning with real-world legal practice. Students gained insights into the different types of courts, the nature of cases handled, and the practical aspects of legal procedures and dispute resolution.

A significant highlight of the visit was the opportunity to interact with the Hon’ble District Judge, Mr. Malkhan Singh. His valuable guidance on the role of Lok Adalats in ensuring speedy, affordable and accessible justice was highly enriching for the students. He also encouraged them to uphold professional ethics and develop a strong sense of responsibility as future legal professionals.

The College expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. Atul Kishore, the Legal Aid Society team, and all those who contributed to making this practical learning experience meaningful.

Zafrul Hasan Khan Memorial Debate Competition – 2026 | Unity P.G. College, Lucknow

12 September 2026— The Literary Club of Unity P.G. College, Lucknow, organised the Zafrul Hasan Khan Memorial Debate Competition – 2026 on the thought-provoking topic “Trial by Media Undermines the Justice System.”

The competition provided students with a meaningful platform to express their views, develop critical thinking, enhance their oratory skills, and engage in a thoughtful discussion on a contemporary issue at the intersection of media, law and justice.

The event was graced by Mr. Syed Mohammad Hasnain, IG (Retd.), as the Chief Guest, who appreciated the participants and commended the college management for providing such a valuable platform for young voices.

Mr. Saif Abbas Kazmi, Zonal Head, ICICI Bank, attended as the Special Guest and shared his valuable perspective on the topic, encouraging students to engage actively with contemporary legal and social issues.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students presenting compelling arguments both for and against the motion. The judges announced the following results:

Independence Day Celebration
Unity P.G. College, Lucknow celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15 August 2026 at the college premises.

The programme commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony, wherein Ms. Sameena Imtiyaz Murtaza, Vice Chairperson, hoisted the National Flag. The National Anthem was sung with pride and respect, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and national unity.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza, Chairman; Mr. Murtaza Hasnain Khan, Secretary; Ms. Asma Jawed, Coordinator; and Dr. Sunil Dhawan, Principal. Faculty members, staff members and other members of the college community were also present and participated enthusiastically in the celebration.
The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the values of freedom, equality, justice and national integrity.
