NOTICE: DR. RAM MANOHAR LOHIYA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY MOTTO ESSAY COMPETITION
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University has chosen its motto: धर्म संस्थापनार्थाय (DHARMA SANSTHAPNARTHAY), implying its meaning as “For Establishment of Dharma” (धर्म की स्थापना के लिए).
But what is dharma?
Generally, it refers to religion. But is it only limited to religion? In one religion, dharma refers to the religious and moral law governing individual conduct. In another religion, dharma is the doctrine, the universal truth common to all individuals at all times. In another philosophy, dharma also has the meaning- of an eternal substance - the medium that allows beings to move.
But, being students of law, what does “dharma” mean to us?
In this regard, the Seminar & Guest Lecture Committee, Dr. RML NLU in collaboration with Legum Inquisitor announces-
DR. RAM MANOHAR LOHIYA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY MOTTO ESSAY COMPETITION.
The theme of the competition is: “What is meaning of Dharma for a law student? Being a student of RMLNLU, what does dharma mean to you?”
