Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Avadh Girls' Degree College, Lucknow, organized a group viewing of the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell-driven session titled "Strengthening Scientific Research and Innovation in Higher Education Institutions: Anusandhan National Research Foundation's Vision, Priorities, and Support Framework" on 31st July 2026. The live virtual session was attended by the students, faculty and members of the IIC of the college. The session was delivered by Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, Chief Executive Officer, Anusandhan National Research Foundation.
The session provided valuable insights into the vision, mission, key priorities, and flagship programmes of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation. It also highlighted various research funding opportunities and support mechanisms available for higher education institutions, faculty members, researchers, students, innovators, and startups.

Students with innovative ideas were encouraged to approach the Institution's Innovation Cell to receive guidance, mentorship, and support for developing and implementing their innovations.

It is a matter of immense pride and honour for Avadh Girls’ Degree College, Lucknow, that *Dr. Sarita Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, was conferred the Teachers’ Excellence Award by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, during the 69th Convocation Ceremony of the University of Lucknow held on 31 July 2026.*

Dr. Singh received this prestigious honour in recognition of her exemplary dedication, academic excellence, and outstanding contributions to teaching, research, student development, and institutional growth. The award reflects her unwavering commitment to quality education, innovative pedagogy, and the holistic development of students.

*Adding another feather to her cap, two edited books authored under her editorial leadership were also formally released by the Hon’ble Governor, Smt. Anandiben Patel, during the Convocation Ceremony.* This remarkable accomplishment further underscores her significant contribution to academic scholarship and research.

*Avadh Girls’ Degree College Cadet Receives Prestigious CWS Best Cadet Award*

Bringing laurels to Avadh Girls’ Degree College, *Sgt. Vanya Shukla,* a cadet of 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC, has been honoured with the Cadet Welfare Society (CWS) Best Cadet Award in recognition of her exemplary performance, outstanding leadership, unwavering discipline, and dedicated service in the National Cadet Corps (NCC).*As part of the honour, she was awarded a cash prize of ₹4,500.*
The CWS Best Cadet Award is presented annually to meritorious NCC cadets who demonstrate excellence in training, leadership, discipline, and overall performance.

On this remarkable achievement, Col. Dr. Dinesh Kumar Pathak, Commanding Officer, 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC, congratulated Sgt. Vanya Shukla and appreciated her dedication and exemplary performance. He also commended Lt. *Celebration of the 12th International Yoga Day 2026*

On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day 2026, a special yoga session was organized by the 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC at Janeshwar Mishra Park, Lucknow, on 21 June 2026. The programme commenced at 5:30 A.M. and concluded at 8:00 A.M., bringing together NCC cadets in a collective celebration of health, wellness, and mindfulness.
A contingent of 40 NCC cadets from Avadh Girls’ Degree College, under the leadership of Lt. Dr. Sarita Singh, Associate NCC Officer (ANO), participated in the event with remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and commitment. The programme aimed to promote the values of physical fitness, mental well-being, self-discipline, and holistic health among the youth through the practice of yoga.
The yoga session was conducted by Dr. Deepeshwar Singh, Head and Yoga Guru, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. Under his expert guidance and inspiring instruction, the cadets actively performed a series of yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation practices. The session emphasized the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life to achieve physical vitality, mental resilience, emotional balance, and inner harmony.
The event was further graced by the esteemed presence of Major General Gaurav Gautam, who actively participated in the yoga session alongside the cadets. His presence served as a source of motivation and encouragement for the participants and reinforced the importance of yoga in fostering a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
The programme reflected the spirit of this year’s Yoga Day theme and highlighted yoga as a powerful tool for building a healthier and more sustainable future. *Report on “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Plantation Drive*

The NCC wing 19 UP Girls’ Battalion,Avadh Girls’ Degree College, Lucknow actively participated in the nationwide
*”Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”* Plantation Drive on 8 July 2026 under the guidance of Lt. Dr. Sarita Singh, Associate NCC Officer.

A total of 45 NCC cadets enthusiastically participated in the campaign by planting saplings at their respective residences and in nearby localities.

The drive aimed to promote environmental conservation, increase green cover, and inspire cadets to develop a sense of responsibility towards nature. By dedicating each sapling to their mothers, the campaign also emphasized the values of gratitude, care, and sustainable living.

The plantation drive was successfully conducted with the active participation of all 45 NCC cadets, reflecting their commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility while upholding the ideals of the National Cadet Corps.

Report on Anti-Drug Awareness Foot Rally

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, an Anti-Drug Awareness Foot Rally was organized by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in collaboration with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) on 25 June 2026 from 5:30 A.M. to 7:30 A.M. near Janeshwar Mishra Park, Lucknow.

A contingent of 20 NCC cadets from Avadh Girls’ Degree College, under the 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC, participated enthusiastically in the rally under the guidance of Lt. Dr. Sarita Singh, Associate NCC Officer (ANO). Carrying informative placards and raising anti-drug slogans, the cadets actively engaged in spreading awareness about the harmful consequences of drug abuse and promoted the message of a healthy, drug-free society.

The rally served as an effective platform to sensitize the public towards the importance of preventing substance abuse and encouraging responsible lifestyle choices. At the conclusion of the programme, refreshments were provided to all participating cadets in appreciation of their active involvement and valuable contribution to the awareness campaign.

*NCC CATC-218 Camp Report*

The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-218, organized by 19 UP Girls Battalion NCC, was held at SRMCEM, Tiwari Ganj, Lucknow, from 04 to 13 June 2026. The camp focused on fostering discipline, leadership, physical fitness, military skills, and teamwork among NCC cadets.

Thirty Nine cadets of the college participated in the camp. Cadets underwent structured training comprising physical training, drill, yoga, weapon training, map reading, field craft, battle drills, musketry, and military subjects. Expert sessions on leadership, personality development, women empowerment, traffic management, fire safety, defence career opportunities, and SSB preparation enriched their knowledge and confidence.

The camp also featured a variety of competitions and activities, including extempore, poster making, sports events, cultural programmes, tent pitching, obstacle training, and guard of honour practice, providing ample opportunities to develop leadership, communication, and team spirit.

As part of its social responsibility initiatives, World Nature Day was observed through an awareness rally and seminar promoting environmental conservation. The camp concluded with a cultural evening, Camp Fire, and the departure of cadets after the successful completion of all scheduled activities.

Overall, CATC-218 proved to be a rewarding training experience, strengthening discipline, confidence, patriotism, leadership, and camaraderie among the participating cadets.

A Women Empowerment Lecture was organized on 5 May 2026 at the Puneet Dutt Auditorium to promote awareness on women’s safety, self-confidence, and self-reliance. The programme was graced by Major General Gaurav Gautam, VSM, whose inspiring address highlighted the significant role of women in nation-building and motivated cadets to become confident, courageous, and independent.

A total of 60 NCC cadets attended the programme, including 10 cadets from Avadh Girls’ Degree College. SGT Nish*ta Sahni and CPL Isha Mishra served as the event pilots, while CDT Vartika Gupta, CPL Isha Massey, Cadet Archana Kumari, Rachna Mishra, Pragya Raj, Geetika Diwakar, Khushi Pandey, and Vaishnavi actively participated.

A key highlight of the programme was an interactive self-defence demonstration conducted by Ms. Usha Vishwakarma and her team from the Red Brigade, who trained cadets in practical techniques for personal safety and emergency response.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The lecture proved to be an enriching experience, reinforcing the values of awareness, preparedness, self-confidence, and women’s empowerment among the participating cadets.
