A misogynist is a person who holds deep-seated prejudice, contempt, or animosity toward women, either consciously or unconsciously. Misogyny can manifest in overt behaviors—such as discriminatory actions, harassment, or explicit statements—or in more covert forms, including stereotypical assumptions, dismissiveness, or systemic practices that disadvantage women.

Is feminism about hating men?

No—this is a common misconception. Feminism criticizes systems of inequality, not individuals or men as a group. Many feminists are men, and feminism benefits everyone by improving fairness and reducing harmful gender expectations.

Women may have broken barriers, rewritten laws, and reshaped industries, but inequality still shows up in paychecks, policies, representation, and everyday life. Around the world, some women are leading nations while others are still fighting for safety, education, and basic freedom. Until equality is a lived reality for every woman—not just a privileged few—the conversation must continue. Women’s rights are human rights, and they remain a battle worth fighting for.
