Makar Sankranti is a harvest festival celebrated by Indians. The day is dedicated to the Sun God, and is also known by different names such as Makara Sankranti or Maghi. The day marks the entry of the sun into the zodiac sign of Makara (Capricorn). It also signals the end of winters and the onset of spring. As per the Hindu calendar, Makar Sankranti falls on the first day of the month of Magha.
People celebrate the occasion with sweets made of jaggery and sesame as well as rice, along with sumptuous meals.

Pongal is one of the most popular harvest festivals of South India, mainly of Tamil Nadu. This four day long festival of Tamil Nadu is celebrated for showing gratitude to the nature. The literal meaning of Pongal is "spilling over" and it had been named so, because of the tradition of boiling rice in a pot till it starts overflowing. Other traditions of the celebration include drawing of Kolam, swinging & cooking of delicious Pongal.

World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and advocating for the sustainable management of soil resources.
An international day to celebrate Soil was recommended by the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) in 2002. Under the leadership of the Kingdom of Thailand and within the framework of the Global Soil Partnership, FAO has supported the formal establishment of WSD as a global awareness raising platform.
The theme for this year is
'Keep soil alive, protect soil biodiversity'
*Facial expressions are key to first impression*
Facial expressions are important parts of how we communicate and how we develop impressions of the people around us.
The Toddlers of BTS Lucknow, under the supervision of Ms Riti Keserwani, conveyed their emotions through expressions for six 'basic' emotions -
*anger
*disgust
*fear
*happiness
*sadness and
*surprise
Facial expressions are extremely important in non-verbal communication.
