On the proud occasion of the 19th Foundation Day of SMS Lucknow, Dr. Jagdish Singh Sir, Director (Administration & Admission), SMS Lucknow, was conferred with the prestigious “Pride of SMS Lucknow Award” in recognition of his distinguished service, leadership and invaluable contribution to the institution.

Dr. Jagdish Singh Sir brings with him a rich and diverse professional journey, combining public service, administration, academics and institutional leadership. His association with SMS Lucknow has seen him take on several significant responsibilities, including Administration & Admission, Corporate Affairs and Training & Placement, where his strategic vision and organisational leadership have contributed meaningfully to the institution’s growth.
With his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Zoology, Dr. Singh has continued to champion student development, industry–academia engagement and institutional excellence. He has also been an active member of key quality and accreditation initiatives, including the IQAC & NAAC Cell.
His journey reflects dedication, discipline, leadership and an unwavering commitment to SMS Lucknow.

🏆 Pride of SMS Lucknow | Honouring a Remarkable Journey

On the proud occasion of the 19th Foundation Day of SMS Lucknow, Prof. (Dr.) Bharat Raj Singh, Director General (Technical), SMS Lucknow, was conferred with the prestigious “Pride of SMS Lucknow Award” in recognition of his distinguished journey, exemplary contribution and enduring commitment to the institution.

With over four decades of rich experience spanning Government, Industry, Administration, Academics, Research and Innovation, Dr. Bharat Raj Singh has carved a remarkable path of excellence. He served for nearly 32 years in various Government organisations and retired as Managing Director, U.P. Rajkiya Nirman Nigam (UPRNN), Lucknow. During his government service, he successfully led major infrastructure and industrial projects and earned recognition for completing several prestigious projects well ahead of schedule.

His transition from public administration to academics has been equally inspiring. For many years, he has contributed to technical education, research, innovation and academic leadership, and today continues to guide the academic and technical growth of SMS Lucknow as its Director General (Technical). His association with SMS Lucknow reflects a sustained commitment to nurturing young minds and promoting a culture of research, innovation and excellence.

Dr. Singh's contribution to research and innovation is equally noteworthy. His work includes research in renewable energy, environmental issues, carbon footprint reduction and unconventional engineering, along with his pioneering work on a compressed-air-powered Air Engine. His academic profile records more than 114 research papers, books, book chapters and patents, reflecting his continuing passion for knowledge and innovation.

His distinguished career has been recognised through numerous honours, including the Best Officer Award, Samaj Sri National Award, Shiksha Gaurav Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, IIT Bombay Certificates of Excellence, and recognition in the Limca Book of Records for his work related to a compressed-air-powered bike. He has also received recognition for his contribution as a reviewer by Elsevier.

The Pride of SMS Lucknow Award is therefore not merely an honour—it is a tribute to a remarkable journey of service, leadership, knowledge, innovation and institution-building.
