Today team ROOTs organized the prize distribution function for the children who took part in painting competition held on 15th December 2017. Auspicious day it was. Function started with Saraswati vandana by children and some individual performances. Team roots distributed delicacies like Laiya ke laddu and Gazak etc as this was the occasion of Makarsankranti. Senior most person associated with Roots, Dadiji and her affectionate words were loved by children.

Somewhere I read a quote..." The language of God is colour" and I felt it to be true in the painting competition organized by Roots for the children of Eklavya Pathshala at Vikas Nagar, Lucknow. This is free tuition center for children of economically weaker section of society. The children were divided in three groups based on their age...5 to 9,10 to 13,and above up to 15. The topics respectively were My home, A festival., any mythological anecdote. It was heartening to see the enthusiasm of children. For three hours they were engrossed in the world of creativity and colours. While the younger ones were busy in decorating their homes in and out with flowers, plants and trees,the elder ones chose the mythological references of their choice. Few glimpses of the event.
