🚀 Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 | GITM, Lucknow 🚀
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Department of Data Science (DS) with the GITM Innovation Cell at Goel Institute of Technology & Management (GITM), Lucknow successfully conducted the Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 on 2nd September 2026.
The event provided an exciting platform for students to demonstrate their innovation, creativity, technical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities by working on real-world problem statements under the SIH framework.
A total of 33 teams from the CSE and DS departments enthusiastically participated in the internal hackathon. After a comprehensive evaluation of the teams' ideas, proposed solutions, technical approach, innovation, feasibility, and presentation, 12 teams were shortlisted for nomination—including 7 teams from CSE and 5 teams from DS.
The jury panel comprised Mr. Ashish Verma, Accenture, Dr. Anita Pal, HOD Computer science and Engineering, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Dubey, HOD Data Science, Dr. Nikhat Akhtar, Professor CSE and Dr. Brijesh Pandey, Professor CSE who evaluated the participating teams and provided valuable feedback and guidance to help students strengthen their solutions.
The hackathon witnessed remarkable enthusiasm and collaborative spirit among the participants, reflecting GITM's commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, technology-driven problem-solving, and a strong culture of research and development.

The Goel Institute of Technology & Management (GITM), Lucknow, Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), and Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) successfully organizedan event collaboration with Red FM, is delighted to be associated with TASHANBAAZ 2026, Lucknow’s biggest inter-collegiate talent hunt, aimed at providing a dynamic platform for students to showcase their creativity, confidence, and exceptional performing talents.

The initiative is designed to bring the madness, music, magic, and Tashan of Red FM to Lucknow’s campuses while discovering the city’s most promising young performers. Tashanbaaz 2026 provides students with an exciting opportunity to step onto a professional stage, showcase their unique talents, engage with a live audience, and compete among some of the finest performers from leading colleges across Lucknow.

The talent hunt welcomes participants across a wide range of performing arts, including Singing, Dancing, Acting, Instrumental Music, Beatboxing, Poetry, Stand-up Comedy, and other performing arts. The platform encourages students to express themselves fearlessly, explore their creative potential, and demonstrate the talent and confidence required to truly own the stage.

As part of the initiative, Red FM is curating a power-packed list of 10–15 of Lucknow’s most prestigious colleges, with GITM being among the institutions invited to participate in this exciting city-wide talent movement. The best performers from each participating college will get the opportunity to advance to a grand city-level finale at a neutral venue, where they will compete against the finest young talents from across Lucknow for the ultimate Tashanbaaz glory.

The Innovation Cell, GITM, in association with the Training & Placement Cell, GITM, organized an Industrial Visit to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on 7th September 2026 for 40+ EE and ME students. Accompanied by Mr. Kushketu Srivastava and Mr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava, students gained practical exposure to aerospace and defence manufacturing and various aircraft and helicopter components. At HAL, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, Training Manager, and the visit was coordinated by Mr. Amit. The visit included an informative presentation and expert interaction on HAL’s operations and components of Jaguar, MiG, Sukhoi, Tejas, Dhruv, Cheetah, and Chetak. The visit helped students connect classroom knowledge with real-world industrial applications and understand India’s aerospace and defence capabilities.

The Innovation Cell, Goel Institute of Technology and Management (GITM), Lucknow, actively participated in the insightful MIC-Driven Activity “Strengthening Research and Innovation Ecosystems in HEIs: Leveraging MANTHAN and UTTHAN for Institutional Transformation”, organized in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India on 2nd September 2026 through live streaming mode. More than 100 students and faculty members actively participated in the session.

The session provided valuable insights into strengthening institutional research and innovation capabilities, fostering strategic collaborations, and building a robust ecosystem for R&D, technology development, entrepreneurship, and innovation in Higher Education Institutions. It highlighted how national digital platforms such as MANTHAN and UTTHAN can help HEIs strengthen research and innovation capabilities, identify and access relevant research and innovation funding opportunities, foster collaboration among academia, industry, government, and innovators, empower R&D Cells, IICs and incubation centres, facilitate technology development, knowledge exchange and translational research, and support institutional transformation through strategic and collaborative initiatives.

The session reinforced the importance of moving “From Ideas to Impact” by leveraging national platforms, strengthening institutional capacities, and building meaningful partnerships for a vibrant Research, Innovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Goel Institute of Technology & Management (GITM) proudly participated in PRANETA 2026 – Jaipuria Higher Education Leadership Summit, held on Saturday, 19 September 2026. The summit was organized around the theme “Reimagining Higher Education for the Next Decade”, bringing together distinguished academic leaders and educationists for meaningful discussions on the future of higher education.

Dr. Brijesh Pandey, Dean GITM was invited as an esteemed panelist for the panel discussion on “ Building Future-Ready Institutions through Collaboration ,” where academic leaders shared their perspectives on emerging opportunities, innovation, collaboration and the evolving landscape of higher education.

The occasion was also a proud moment for GITM as Dr. Priyanka Jaiswal, (HOD-Electronic & Communication Engineering & Electrical Engineering) was conferred the Excellence Award in Academic Leadership and Student Impact, recognizing her contribution to academic leadership and student development.

Adding another achievement to the institution’s accomplishments, Mr. Shivam Shukla, (HoD- Information Technology) received the Excellence Award in Innovation in Teaching and Learning, acknowledging her contribution towards innovative and progressive teaching practices.

Department of Management at Goel Institute of Technology and Management successfully conducted “Investiture Ceremony”, and declared the result of office bearer posts for the newly admitted MBA students for the academic year 2026-27 on 2nd October 2026. The selected students were vested with responsibilities and powers. There was a panel of 4 Judges both from the department & outside the department. Selection was made after completing four rounds of rigorous presentation, group discussion, debate and Q/A round. The selection was held for 07 posts: Class Representative, Vice Class Representative, Discipline Incharge, Cultural Event Coordinator, Social Media and Information Board Incharge, Sport Coordinator, Innovation Cell Coordinator & Hospitality Incharge. The names of all the winners and their posts are as follows:

Orientation Program 2026
Department of Management at Goel Institute o,f Technology and Management successfully conducted an orientation program for the newly admitted MBA students for the academic year 2026-27 on 2nd September 2026 . The main objective of this orientation program was to introduce the MBA students with the top management, faculties, GITM campus, its amenities, rules and regulations, cultural activities and many more. We had 21 days of Induction programme where students participated in different activities such as literary, painting, best out of waste, dancing, singing, instrumental and poetry. Students showcased their skills and talent with full enthusiasm. The program started with Saraswati Vandana and warm welcome of dignitaries. Dr.Jyoti Agarwal, Head of the Department of Management welcomed Director GITM, Dr. Rishi Asthana, Director Administration, GGI Mr.Arun Gakhar, Dean Academics GITM & TPO (GGI) Dr. Devendra Agarwal, Chief Proctor Dr. S.K Shukla, CoE Dr.Arun Dubey, Innovation Cell Convener Dr. Priyanka Jaiswal & Trainer Ms.Aditi Sharma.
