Ambliara Princely State

The Ambliara State, also spelt Ambaliyara was a princely state under Mahi Kantha Agency of the Bombay Presidency during the era of the British Raj in India.
The Ambliara State was ruled by a Chauhan family that is categorized among the “Kshatriya Koli” Thakordas (minor lords). According to the Gujarat State Gazetteers, the rulers were “Khant Kolis” by caste, and their family claimed descent from the Chauhans of Sambhar and Ajmer.

Ambliara State was merged with Baroda State under the Attachment Scheme on 10 July 1943. Finally, Baroda State acceded to the Indian Union on 1 May 1949. The state had enjoyed a Privy Purse of Rs 26000.

Alsisar Thikana

Alsisar belongs to Shekhawat Dynasty.Over five centuries ago, the great warrior Maharao Shekhaji established a sub-clan of the “Kachawa” clan of Rajputs. The Alsisar family traces their history to this sub-clan, popularly known as the Shekhawat. The Shekhawat have since been the namesake for the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, Northern India, which comprises the districts of Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Churu and Jaipur.

Thakur Samrath Singh Ji made Alsisar his capital in the year 1783 AD and developed the Thikana in to a beautiful place. Alsisar Mahal (Palace) was built by the Shekhawat Thikanedars.

Located just outside of Jhunjhunu, the Alsisar Mahal showcases the glorious past of Shekhawati even serving as the location of a fierce battle in 1834 between the British Shekhawati Brigade and the remaining Thikanas (plural of Thakur) of Shekhawati. The Thikanas were refusing to pledge allegience to the Jaipur State and its British overlords. Under the command of Colonel Henry Forrester, the Brigade destroyed one fourth of Alsisar Mahal in the bombardment and ultimately defeated the Thikanas. Thus the Alsisar Mahal represents the convergence of several vital aspects of Rajasthani history.

The ancestors of this family established themselves as military chiefs in Utrein at the turn of the 17th century and rendered military service with the Mughal governers of the Suba. With the decline of central authority during the later years of Emperor Aurangzeb’s reign, the family occupied Pargana Sanaut as independent chiefs, consolidating their power and authority over the entire Magadh region by the 1730’s. They established their headquarters at Tikari Fort. After the battle of Buxar, with the British EIC being appointed Diwan by Emperor Shah Alam, the autonomy of the principality became curtailed to that of principal zamindar of Bihar Suba along with the Rajas of Tirhut and Shahabad. Pitambar Singh, the Raja of Tikari lost his Gaddi to his second cousin Mitrajit Singh of the cadet line for siding with Raja Chyet Singh of Benaras against the British EIC. In a subsequent compromise, a small part of Tikari State was carved out with its nucleus at Maksudpur Fort, and Pitambar Singh became the Raja of Maksudpur. Mitrajit Singh was recognized as the Maharaja of Tikari. Hence the Maksudpur history is the Tikari history prior to 1793.

Wankaner Princely State

Wankaner State was one of the princely states of India in the historical Halar region of Kathiawar during the period of the British Raj having eleven gun salute state belonging to the Kathiawar Agency of the Bombay Presidency..

Founded in 1605 by a grandson of Raj Chandrasinhji, the ruler of Dhrangadhra.

In 1807 Wankaner State became a British protectorate when Maharana Raj Sahib Chandrasinhji II Kesarisinhji signed a treaty with the British. In 1862 the ruler of the state received a sanad giving the monarch authorization to adopt an heir. The ruler acceded to the Indian Union on 15 February 1948.

Alidhra is a Princely State of Kathi Kshatriya Dynasty's Wala clan. (Alidhra, Gujarat, India). Also known as Mendarda or Amra Moka’s Estate. This Kathi estate was founded by Kumar Shri Moka Bhima Wala, younger son of Darbar Shri Bhima Valera Wala, 2nd Darbar Sahib of Khijadia. The Talukdar had jurisdictional powers as follows: Criminal – Three months rigorous imprisonment and fines of up to 200Rs, Civil – fines up to 500Rs.
