For the past year, AI leaders warned the world about a coming jobs crisis.
Now, some of the biggest names in AI are changing their tone.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently admitted he was “pretty wrong” about how quickly AI would eliminate entry-level white-collar jobs.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, who previously warned that AI could remove up to 50% of white-collar work, is now saying automation may actually expand human productivity instead.
That is a major shift.
Just months ago, the dominant AI narrative was simple:
AI replaces humans.
But reality has been more complicated.
Yes, companies are using AI to automate repetitive work.
Yes, layoffs are happening across tech.
But large-scale white-collar replacement has not happened at the speed many expected.
Instead, many businesses are discovering something different:
AI works best when humans work alongside it.
Altman even shared that he tried letting AI handle more of his communication — including emails and Slack messages — but eventually returned to replying himself.
Why?
Because people still value human interaction.
That matters more than many expected.
Dario Amodei’s latest comments point toward a similar idea.
Instead of removing entire professions, AI may automate parts of jobs — allowing workers to focus on higher-value tasks.
In other words:
AI may change work more than it removes work.
The future workforce may belong to people who know how to combine creativity, decision-making, and domain expertise with AI-powered tools.

AI just crossed another major milestone in mathematics.
OpenAI’s latest model has reportedly solved a long-standing maths problem that researchers had struggled with for decades.
The problem was linked to a famous conjecture from 1949 and required deep reasoning across advanced mathematical concepts.
This is important because mathematics has always been one of the hardest areas for AI.
Unlike simple calculations, research-level maths requires logic, creativity, pattern recognition, and the ability to build a proof step by step.
For years, AI systems were seen mostly as advanced calculators.
They could process numbers quickly, but they often failed when problems required original reasoning.
That is now starting to change.
New reasoning models are getting better at breaking down complex problems, testing different approaches, and producing structured solutions.
This does not mean AI is replacing mathematicians.
Human experts still need to verify the proof, check every step, and confirm whether the solution is truly valid.
But it does show that AI is moving from answering questions to helping solve problems that once seemed out of reach.
The bigger shift is clear:
AI is no longer just a productivity tool.
It is becoming a research tool.
From coding and science to mathematics and engineering, AI systems are beginning to assist with tasks that require deep thinking.
The future of research may not be human vs AI.

AI is becoming one of the biggest topics on graduation stages.
But not everyone wants to hear the usual “AI will change everything” speech.
Across several US universities, students have reportedly booed speakers who praised AI too aggressively.
Why?
Because many graduates are entering a job market where automation, layoffs, and AI-driven restructuring are already creating anxiety.
At the University of Arizona, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt faced boos while telling students that AI would “touch everything” and comparing the moment to boarding a rocket ship.
At the University of Central Florida, students reacted strongly when AI was described as “the next industrial revolution.”
At Middle Tennessee State University, music executive Scott Borchetta was booed after talking about AI’s growing role in music production.
But Steve Wozniak’s speech landed differently.
Instead of presenting AI as something students must blindly accept, he reminded graduates that they already have something more powerful:
Actual intelligence.
His message was simple:
AI may be useful, but human creativity, emotion, judgment, and original thinking still matter.
That is why students applauded him.
Wozniak did not dismiss technology.
That is the real lesson from Wozniak’s speech.
The future will not belong to people who ignore AI.
But it also will not belong to companies that ignore humans.
The real advantage will go to people who combine both:
Human intelligence + AI tools.
Because AI can generate.
But humans still decide what is meaningful.
