When students in Grades 3 to 5 encounter physical changes, peer comments often affect their confidence long before adults notice. Our school counselors addressed this directly through sessions on personal hygiene, grooming, puberty, and menstruation.
On August 1, girls in Grades 3 to 5 covered daily hygiene habits, and girls in Grades 4 and 5 also covered menstrual hygiene, managing periods at school, normal body changes, and common myths. On August 3, boys in Grades 3 to 5 explored puberty, including growth spurts, broader shoulders, deeper voices, sweating, body hair, skin changes, and emotional growth.
To build body confidence and address bullying at the root, counselors guided students through our Teardrop to Heart activity. Children reflected on hurtful comments about height, weight, skin color, voice, or strength. You're too short. You're too skinny. You're too fat. You're too dark. Your voice sounds funny. You're weak.
Together, they turned those remarks into self-talk. No, I am happy with my height, and I am still growing. No, I am happy with my skin. Everybody grows at their own pace. My body is strong because of what it helps me do.
Openly discussing biological change reduces worry and replaces comparison with kindness. Summaries were also shared with parents to keep the conversation going at home.
How does your school community encourage self-respect in growing children?

Hogwarts magic meets rural Indian grit.
We forced their worlds to collide. And it left our entire campus speechless.
We started with a gut punch. A senior student played a lonely older woman leaning on a cane. A giant screen behind her showed brutal daily news. Pollution. Screen addiction. Elder abandonment.
It was a masterclass in reading human emotion.
Then came the ultimate crossover. Harry and Hermione stepped into our messy reality. Our seniors showed us what happens when fictional heroes face real world problems. It proved true bravery hits different off the page.
The primary building absolutely delivered too.
Grade V actors threw on horn headgear for "Do Bailon Ki Katha." Kridha Gupta of V-D designed a killer poster uniting both literary legends.
Why do this? J.K. Rowling and Munshi Premchand share a birthday.
We use Project Alchemy to force our students to analyze complex social dynamics. Seth Anandram Jaipuria School does not just teach books. We teach reality. That is why we are a Global Top 10 World's Best School 2026.

A spectacular celebration of unity, music, and freedom at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Shaheed Path, Lucknow! 🇮🇳🎵
Our Independence Day celebration began with the solemn flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by expressive Hindi and English speeches by our students.
From the energetic Primary Dance to the moving Sarhad Dance, our young performers kept the audience enthralled. The excitement continued with Symphony, our Inter-House Music Competition, where talented students from Ganga, Narmada, Godavari, and Krishna Houses showcased their abilities across Indian and Western music categories.
In their addresses, our Principal and Vice Principal encouraged students to embrace the forward-thinking spirit of New India and reminded them that independence in education means having the confidence to think independently, pursue their interests, and step beyond their comfort zones.
It is this ethos of student empowerment that led our school to be shortlisted among the Top 10 Schools Globally in the Supporting Healthy Lives category by T4 Education’s World’s Best School Prizes 2026.
