ग्रुप ऑफ़ टवेंटी या G20, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आर्थिक और वित्तीय (Economic and Financial) एजेंडा के सबसे महत्त्वपूर्ण पहलुओं पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग हेतु प्रमुख मंच है। यह दुनिया की प्रमुख उन्नत और उभरती अर्थव्यवस्थाओं को एक साथ लाता है।

G20 समूह में अर्जेंटीना, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, ब्राज़ील, कनाडा, चीन, यूरोपियन यूनियन, फ्राँस, जर्मनी, भारत, इंडोनेशिया, इटली, जापान, मेक्सिको, रूस, सऊदी अरब, दक्षिण अफ्रीका, दक्षिण कोरिया, तुर्की, यूनाइटेड किंगडम और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका शामिल हैं।

G20 के सम्मेलनों में संयुक्त राष्ट्र (United Nation), IMF और विश्व बैंक भी भाग लेते हैं।

G20 समूह वैश्विक सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (GDP) का 85 प्रतिशत, वैश्विक व्यापार का 75 प्रतिशत, वैश्विक निवेश का 80% तथा पूरे विश्व की जनसंख्या के दो-तिहाई हिस्से का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है।

वैश्विक आर्थिक स्थिरता और सतत् आर्थिक संवृद्धि हासिल करने हेतु सदस्यों के मध्य नीतिगत समन्वय स्थापित करना।

वित्तीय विनियमन (Financial Regulations) को बढ़ावा देना जो कि जोखिम (Risk) को कम करते हैं तथा भावी वित्तीय संकट (Financial Crisis) को रोकते हैं।

नये लोकसभा अध्यक्ष -17वीं लोकसभा

लोकसभा अध्यक्ष
(Lok Sabha Speaker)
भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के सांसद ओम बिरला को सर्वसम्मति से 17वीं लोकसभा का अध्यक्ष चुना गया है। उल्लेखनीय है कि इससे पहले 16वीं लोकसभा की अध्यक्ष सुमित्रा महाजन थीं।

लोकसभा में अध्यक्ष तथा उपाध्यक्ष
(The Speaker and The Deputy Speaker)
लोकसभा का अध्यक्ष लोकसभा का सदस्य होता है।
लोकसभा अध्यक्ष या उपाध्यक्ष होने के नाते अलग से किसी शपथ की व्यवस्था का प्रावधान नहीं है। वह लोक सभा सदस्य के रूप में शपथ लेता है।
यदि लोकसभा अध्यक्ष का पद रिक्त हो तो उपाध्यक्ष उसकी भूमिका का निर्वाह करता है। संविधान के अनुच्छेद [95(1)] में यह प्रावधान है कि- अध्यक्ष का पद रिक्त है तब उपाध्यक्ष या यदि उपाध्यक्ष का पद रिक्त है तो राष्ट्रपति द्वारा लोक सभा के किसी सदस्य को नियुक्त किया जाता है।
अनुच्छेद 95(2) में यह प्रावधान है कि अध्यक्ष और उपाध्यक्ष की अनुपस्थिति में अध्यक्ष के रूप में वह व्यक्ति कार्य करेगा, जो लोकसभा द्वारा इस कार्य हेतु निर्दिष्ट किया गया हो।
ऐसे में लोक सभा अध्यक्ष की भूमिका में लोकसभा सदस्य को वो सभी शक्तियाँ प्राप्त होती हैं, जो लोकसभा अध्यक्ष को प्राप्त होती हैं।
अध्यक्ष की शक्तियाँ तथा कार्य
(Powers and Functions of the Speaker)
लोकसभा अध्यक्ष का प्राथमिक कार्य बैठकों का संचालन करना तथा कार्रवाई को व्यवस्थित व नियंत्रित करना है। मतभेद की अवस्था में अध्यक्ष का निर्णय अंतिम होता है।
कोई विधेयक धन विधेयक है या नहीं, इसका निर्धारण लोकसभा अध्यक्ष द्वारा किया जाता है।
दोनों सदनों में किसी विधेयक के संदर्भ में गतिरोध की स्थिति में सदनों की संयुक्त बैठक (Joint Sitting) की अध्यक्षता लोकसभा अध्यक्ष करता है।
किसी प्रस्ताव के पक्ष व विपक्ष में बराबर मत पड़ने पर लोक सभा अध्यक्ष अपना निर्णायक मत दे सकता है।
दल-बदल विरोधी कानून के तहत लोक सभा अध्यक्ष को यह अधिकार है कि वह किसी सदस्य के संबंध में दल-बदल संबंधी शिकायत मिलने पर उसकी निरर्हता (Disqualification) पर पैसला करें।
लोक सभा अध्यक्ष यह भी तय करता है कि सदन में कौन सदस्य कितनी अवधि तक बोलेगा और कौन नहीं बोलेगा।
लोक सभा की बैठक के लिये यदि गणपूर्ति (कुल सदस्य संख्या के कम-से-कम 1ध10 सदस्य) नहीं है तो बैठक को तब तक के लिये स्थगित कर दें, जब तक कि गणपूर्ति न हो जाए। (सभा के कुल सदस्यों की संख्या का दसवाँ भाग अनुच्छेद 100(3) के अंतर्गत सभा की बैठक के लिये गणपूर्ति माना जाता है।)

During the Passing out Parade today, Chief of Air Staff gave his own wings to the winner of "Sword of Honour", stating that since he hangs his uniform in September, let this be worn by a young boy (a JCO's son) to carry him through trials and tribulations of fighter flying in IAF.

GOD BLESS OUR CHIEF AND THIS YOUNG BOY.
