Disabilities in India. Following Difficulties, Disorders and Diseases and Academic Deficiencies may occur in 6 out of every 10 school going children in India. Difficulties:
Visual perceptual/ Visual Motor Difficulties. Difficulty in Non-verbal memory, mathematics, Spatial Relations, concentration, listening and global understanding. Weak Inter-personal abilities and difficulty in expressing feelings and reading others. Relatively low responsiveness to social skills treatment(S). Poor Social Skills, difficulty making and keeping friends. Fear of new situations. Trouble adjusting to changes. May be very naïve and lack common sense. Anxiety, depression and low self- esteem. May withdraw, becoming agoraphobic (abnormal fear of open spaces)
