5 May 1887 गोरखा राइफल्स से कुछ अलग जाती के लड़ाकों कि फौज बनायीं गयी, जो दिखने में कुछ अलग और युद्धकौशल में और खतरनाक , इनको अलग किया तो पाया सारे गढ़वाली। इसे रॉयल गढ़वाल राइफल्स नाम दिया गया।

"The men would be an excellent fighting class. The present 5th Gurkhas had many Garhwális in its fighting ranks who repeatedly proved themselves brave and faithful soldiers and are considered by the officers of that corps as equal to the pure Gurkha in physique and pluck. The other Gurkha Regiments count their Garhwális as amongst their best soldiers, and all the officers who know this class best speak in the highest terms of their military qualifications.

हम और हमारी दोस्ती

दोस्ती शायद ज़िंदगी होती है,
जो हर दिल में बसी होती है,
वैसे तो जी लेते है सभी अकेले मगर,
फिर भी ज़रूरत इनकी हर एक को होती है।

तन्हा हो कभी तुम तो मुझको याद करना,
दुनिया कुछ भी कहे, तुम बस अपने दिल से पूछना,
हम तो हमेशा आप लोगो के पास होते है,
यादों से नही साथ गुज़रे लम्हो से पूछना।

ख़वाईश ही नही किसी और को अपनाने की,
चाहत को तो ज़रूरत है बस आपके एहसास की,
पास होते तो गजब ही क्या होता यारों,
दूर से ख़बर है मुझे तुम्हारी आपकी हर साँस की।

दिल जीत ले वो जिगर हम भी रखते है,
इशारो से समझने वाली वो नज़र हम भी रखते है,
तुमसे वादा है हमारा हमेशा खुश रहने का,
वरना आँखो में समुंदर हम भी रखते है।

आँसू आ जाते है कुछ बोलने से पहेले,
हर पल याद आते है सोने से पहले,
काश कुछ ऐसा होता की, वो सारे पल लौट आते,
हमारी दोस्ती की अंतिम लड़ाई से पहेले।

सोच तेरी ऊँची है, जीत तेरी पक्का होगी,
हर रास्ते में तुझे जरुरत मेरी होगी,
घबराना मत दोस्त मेरे, रास्ते में कभी,
क्यूंकि हर मुसीबत से पहेले परछाई मेरी होगी।

good morning friends............ here is a good news for GRRC. Yesterday night Garhwal Rifles received the first prize of Republic Day Parade. Salute to all garhwali hero's. The real hero of our Uttarakhand.
