Today, we are not just looking at a dam.
We are looking at Geography, Science, Engineering, Environment & Human Development — all at one place.
📍 Malampuzha Dam, Palakkad, Kerala
A reminder for our students:
“Don’t just read about the world in books…
Go out, observe it, question it, and learn from it.”
A DAM is not just a structure — it is a lesson in civilisation. 🌊📚
At Malampuzha Dam, Palakkad, students can see how water, engineering, agriculture, environment and human needs are connected.
The Malampuzha Irrigation Project is one of Kerala’s important irrigation projects and was the first large-scale irrigation system attempted in the state. The project’s canal network supports irrigation, while the reservoir also contributes to drinking-water needs in Palakkad and surrounding areas.
For our students, this is a lesson beyond the textbook:
🌊 Water teaches us conservation
🏗️ The dam teaches us engineering
🌾 Irrigation teaches us agriculture & food security
🌱 Nature teaches us environmental responsibility
👥 Public infrastructure teaches us civic responsibility
Because true education begins when students start connecting what they learn in the classroom with the real world.
