PROUD MOMENT FOR MADHABDEV UNIVERSITY: YOUTH LEADERS FROM ROVER & RANGER TAKE CHARGE OF CLIMATE
ACTION!
We are thrilled to share that four dedicated crew from Rover and Ranger, Madhabdev University Unit successfully participated in the National Level Training of Trainers (ToT) for the North Eastern Region under the "Youth Led Action on Climate Change" (YLACC) project. This prestigious five-day program was held from
15th September to 19th September, 2026, at the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides State Headquarters in the beautiful city of Shillong. Organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides National Headquarters, New Delhi, the workshop aimed to empower young leaders to become catalysts for environmental change.
Our university was represented by
Mr. Rahul Borah (P.G. 3rd Sem, Dept. of Political Science) , Mr. Gunjan Hazarika
(U.G. 5th Sem, Dept. of Political Science) , Mr. Raktim Borah (U.G. 5th Sem, Dept. of English) and Ms. Licha Borah (Ex-student, Dept. of Education)
During the intensive training in Shillong, these participants engaged in high-level sessions on climate science, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and community mobilization. As the North Eastern region faces unique environmental challenges, this program focused on equipping trainers with
the tools to lead local grassroots movements. Our students worked alongside peers from across the Northeast to design action plans that focus on carbon
reduction, waste management, and environmental education.
By completing this national-level training, these four individuals are now certified trainers ready to lead climate initiatives within our university and the wider community. Their participation underscores Madhabdev University’s
commitment to fostering social responsibility and environmental stewardship
among its students.
