Q: By what date do you intend to have the school operational? A: It is our desire to have the school operational with 16 girls, age 5 years, effective 01 October2015. Naturally, the school will be built in bursts and spurts, now that the perimeter is secured, we will commence in Aug 2014 with the construction of a multi-purpose facility (70’ x 80’), also referred to as the Administrative Building, which will serve to board and lodge our girls. Q: Who will select and what process will you use in selecting girls? A: LBS Trust members will select girls for SR GHS. Girls will be taken from the seven tehsils (15 Blocks) that make up Lakhimpur Kheri. Selection criteria will include: age; general health; disposition; ability to communicate; upbringing; situation at home; number of siblings; parents pecuniary situation. Q: How do we contribute to your School Project and / or LBS Trust? A: In any one of three ways, as follows:
i. We are happy to accept cheques (from any Canadian or US bank) made to Lala Beejraj Shikchha Trust, which will be subsequently encashed and deposited to the LBST account in the Punjab National Bank (Hospital Road, Lakhimpur Kheri, UP). We have applied for FCRA (http://www.fcraforngos.org), 12A and 80G (http://www.nonprofitngo.com/how-to-apply-for/ngo-certifications-registrations-forms/) through Mr. Anas Rashid, and will have these certifications by Aug 2014. We are happy to accept sponsorship of each girl from Feb 2015 onwards at a projected cost of RS 1650 ($30 CA) per month, whereupon the cost to educate, feed, clothe, provide health care and build up a corpus fund for that girl will be duly recorded and accurately maintained. iii. We are also happy to accept sponsorship of school building(s) or school room(s); residence(s); boundary wall(s); facilities (e.g. science and computer laboratories) dedicated to loved ones or self.
