“University Science and Instrumentation Centre” (USIC) was set up in 1976 by University Grants Commission initially as a “Central Instrumentation Facility” at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Later on, the department evolved and started a 4 year Bachelor’s degree course in Instrumentation (B. Tech in Instrumentation) in 1995 and the department was rechristened as “Institute Of Instrumentation
Engineering” (IIE). Since 2006, the Institute is also offering a Post Graduate course in Instrumentation (M. The Institute has also been running recently a “Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme” with the help of a generous aid by “World Bank”. In 2011, the department was renamed as “Department Of Instrumentation” (DOI). Speaking of the Bachelor’s course, the course is multidisciplinary in nature and has direct job potential. Also our “Alumni” are serving a wide range of industries from Engineering & Construction to Software. Some of them have also performed well in higher studies and research. The Department has also set up a Training and Placement cell for helping and counseling students in training and placement matters. Time to time, every year corporates visit the department and offer decent pay packets.
