CBSE in collaboration with NCB organised an Awareness Programme on Prevention of Substance Abuse on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, in Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya Principals, teachers, and students from 50 schools across Kurukshetra district participated in the programme.

The programme began with Deep Prajwalan followed by introduction of the program and welcome by Sh. Narayan Singh, Principal Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya. The program was graced by key speaker Sh. Ajay Kumar, Inspector, NCB Chandigarh, Sh. Rahul Chaudhary, Sub Inspector NCB Chandigarh, Ms. Renu Bhandari, Under Secretary CBSE Panchkula, Ms. Jatinder Kaur, Assistant Secretary CBSE Panchkula and Smt. Rita Goel, city coordinator and Principal Aggarsen Public School, Kurukshetra.
The address of the key speaker. Sh. Ajay Kumar, Inspector, NCB Chandigarh, sensitised students about the harmful consequences of drug abuse and stressed the importance of staying away from addictive substances and making responsible choices.
He highlighted the dangers of substance abuse, the influence of peer pressure and after effects of consuming drugs in life and society. Thereafter everyone took oath saying “No to Drugs and a collective commitment towards creating a healthy, aware and drug-free generation The interaction with students and teachers made the session informative and impactful.
Mrs. Renu Bhandari presented the vote of thanks and emphasised that prevention begins with awareness, self-control and timely guidance, while teachers, parents and students must work together to build a drug-free society.

It was a moment of immense pride for Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya, Kurukshetra, as 101 talented students represented the school at the Sankul-Level Ganit Vigyan Mela & Sanskriti Mahotsav, held at SMB Gita Senior Secondary School on 24 August 2026.

The students participated enthusiastically in various competitions in Science, Mathematics, Computer and SBP, demonstrating their knowledge, creativity, scientific temperament, confidence and competitive spirit. Their remarkable performance was a reflection of their hard work, sincere preparation and the dedicated guidance of their mentors.

The school achieved an outstanding tally of 85 positions, with 49 students securing First Position, 20 students securing Second Position and 16 students securing Third Position.

The exceptional performance of the students brought great laurels to the institution and showcased the talent and potential nurtured at Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya.

The Principal congratulated all the participating students, winners and their mentors for their commendable performance and appreciated their dedication and teamwork.

He conveyed his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the students for the state level fair.

Celebration of Creativity and Togetherness

A special Saturday Activity was organised on 22 August 2026, providing students with a vibrant platform to showcase their creativity, artistic skills, imagination and communication abilities through a variety of engaging activities.
Students of Classes V and VI participated in Creative Name Art and Message Writing, expressing their ideas through colourful designs and thoughtful messages. The activities encouraged imagination, originality and meaningful self-expression.
Students of Classes VII and X showcased their artistic talents through Rakhi Making, Stone Decoration and Thali Decoration. They enthusiastically created attractive and innovative decorative pieces, demonstrating creativity, patience and attention to detail.
A Poem Recitation Competition on the theme of Raksha Bandhan was organised for students of Classes VII to X. The participants presented their poems with confidence and expression, developing their fluency, pronunciation and voice modulation. Class X students also participated in a Speech Competition on Raksha Bandhan, presenting their thoughts with clarity, confidence and effective communication.
The diverse range of activities created an atmosphere of enthusiasm, creativity and joyful participation. The programme provided students with meaningful opportunities to develop their artistic, literary and communication skills while fostering confidence, self-expression and appreciation of cultural values. The activity concluded on a cheerful note, leaving students with a strong sense of accomplishment and togetherness.

नीट- 2026 में सफल छात्रों को विद्यालय ने सम्मानित किया
स्थानीय गीता निकेतन आवासीय विद्यालय कुरुक्षेत्र में आयोजित एक सम्मान समारोह में मेडिकल में प्रवेश हेतु राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर आयोजित की जाने वाली नीट परीक्षा 2026 में सफलता प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यालय के छात्रों अरविंद और सक्षम को स्मृति चिन्ह देकर सम्मानित किया गया। NEET(UG) -2026 की परीक्षा में विद्यालय के छात्र अरविंद ने नीट परीक्षा में 625 अंक प्राप्त कर 99.78 परसेंटाइल के साथ ऑल इंडिया रैंक 4214 प्राप्त किया तथा छात्र सक्षम ने 613 अंक प्राप्त कर 99.66 परसेंटाइल अंकों के साथ ऑल इंडिया रैंक 6510 प्राप्त किया। इस शानदार उपलब्धि पर विद्यालय के माधव विशाल कक्ष में एक सम्मान समारोह का आयोजन किया गया आयोजन के दौरान दोनों सफल छात्रों ने जूनियर छात्रों के साथ परीक्षा की तैयारी के अनुभव और रणनीतियां साझा की। इस अवसर पर छात्रों को संबोधित करते हुए प्रधानाचार्य नारायण सिंह ने कहा कि कठिन परिश्रम का कोई विकल्प नहीं होता । कठिन परिश्रम के बल पर जीवन के किसी भी मुकाम को हासिल किया जा सकता है। हमारे बीच से निकले हुए सफल छात्र दूसरों का सही मार्गदर्शन करते हैं । अन्य छात्रों को उनसे प्रेरणा लेकर निरंतर प्रयासरत रहना चाहिए। विद्यालय प्रबंध समिति के अध्यक्ष डॉ घनश्याम शर्मा, प्रबंधक पवन गुप्ता तथा विद्यालय के शिक्षकों ने इस शानदार सफलता पर छात्रों को बधाई दी एवं उनका अभिनंदन किया ।

गीता निकेतन आवासीय विद्यालय कुरुक्षेत्र के पूर्व छात्र कमांडर विनीत शर्मा को गैलेंट्री अवॉर्ड की घोषणा

गीता निकेतन आवासीय विद्यालय कुरुक्षेत्र के पूर्व छात्र विनीत शर्मा वर्तमान में भारतीय नौसेना में कमांडर पद पर तैनात हैं। कमांडर विनीत शर्मा को नौ सेना में उनके अदम्य साहस और असाधारण वीरता के लिए 80वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर महामहिम राष्ट्रपति द्वारा नौसेना गैलेंट्री अवॉर्ड (वीरता पुरस्कार) से सम्मानित करने की घोषणा की गई है।यह समाचार विद्या भारती अखिल भारतीय शिक्षा संस्थान , गीता निकेतन आवासीय विद्यालय एवं कुरुक्षेत्र वासियों के लिए अत्यंत गौरव का विषय है।
सेक्टर -4 कुरुक्षेत्र के रहने वाले विनीत शर्मा के पिता स्वर्गीय मोहिंदर कुमार शर्मा कुरुक्षेत्र विश्वविद्यालय के प्रशासनिक विभाग से सेवानिवृत्त थे तथा माता सुदर्शन शर्मा भारत सरकार के एम.एस.एम.ई .विभाग से सेवानिवृत्त हैं। विनीत शर्मा विद्यालय के होनहार मेधावी छात्र रहे।उनकी अध्ययन के साथ साथ खेलकूद में भी रुचि थी । छात्र जीवन से ही विनीत को देशभक्ति एवं राष्ट्रसेवा का जुनून था। विनीत शर्मा ने गीता निकेतन में दशवीं कक्षा में अध्ययन के समय सन 2002 में देश की प्रतिष्ठित राष्ट्रीय प्रतिभा खोज परीक्षा NTSE उत्तीर्ण कर राष्ट्रीय छात्रवृति प्राप्त की थी।2004 में विनीत ने गीता निकेतन से 12वीं कक्षा की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की तथा 2005 में राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी NDA खड़गवासला में प्रवेश लिया । ज्ञातब्य है कि राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी से पासिंग आउट परेड के समय भी विनीत शर्मा सर्वश्रेष्ठ कैडेट रहते हुए प्रेसीडेंट स्वॉर्ड ऑफ ऑनर से सम्मानित हो चुके हैं ।
महामहिम राष्ट्रपति द्वारा नौसेना सेवा मेडल गैलेंट्री अवॉर्ड (वीरता पुरस्कार )से सम्मानित होने वाले नौ सेना के अधिकारियों की सूची में भी विनीत शर्मा का नाम पहले स्थान पर है । इस अभूतपूर्व एवं सराहनीय उपलब्धि पर विद्यालय प्रबंध समिति के अध्यक्ष डॉ घनश्याम शर्मा, प्रबंधक पवन गुप्ता, प्रधानाचार्य नारायण सिंह ने विनीत शर्मा एवं परिवार को हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं प्रेषित की है।

गीता निकेतन आवासीय विद्यालय, कुरुक्षेत्र में अखंड भारत संकल्प दिवस एवं वार्षिक पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह का भव्य आयोजन

लगभग 500 विद्यार्थियों को उत्कृष्ट उपलब्धियों के लिए किया गया सम्मानित

विद्या भारती अखिल भारतीय शिक्षा संस्थान द्वारा संचालित गीता निकेतन आवासीय विद्यालय, कुरुक्षेत्र में 80वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस के अवसर पर अखंड भारत संकल्प दिवस एवं वार्षिक पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह देशभक्ति, उत्साह एवं गौरवपूर्ण वातावरण में आयोजित किया गया। कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ एनसीसी कैडेट्स की अनुशासित परेड से हुआ। अतिथिगण द्वारा ध्वजारोहण एवं एनसीसी परेड की सलामी के उपरांत माँ शारदा के समक्ष दीप प्रज्वलन कर कार्यक्रम का विधिवत शुभारंभ किया गया। प्राचार्य श्री नारायण सिंह जी ने अतिथियों का परिचय कराते हुए उनका स्वागत एवं अभिनंदन किया।

कार्यक्रम के मुख्य वक्ता ब्रिगेडियर रणधीर सिंह (सेवानिवृत्त, भारतीय सेना) ने विद्यार्थियों को राष्ट्रप्रेम, अनुशासन, एकता एवं ‘राष्ट्र प्रथम’ की भावना को जीवन में आत्मसात करने का संदेश दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि लक्ष्य की स्पष्टता, निरंतर प्रयास और सकारात्मक सोच सफलता की आधारशिला हैं। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को अहंकार से दूर रहकर श्रेष्ठ एवं जिम्मेदार नागरिक बनने के लिए प्रेरित किया। मुख्य अतिथि एवं विद्यालय की पूर्व छात्रा डॉ. चीना सिंह (पी.जी.आई.डी.एस., रोहतक) ने अपने गुरुजनों के प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि स्पष्ट लक्ष्य, स्व-अध्ययन, धैर्य, दृढ़ संकल्प एवं सतत प्रयास से सफलता अवश्य प्राप्त की जा सकती है। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को अपने लक्ष्य के प्रति निष्ठावान रहने का संदेश दिया। विशिष्ट अतिथि एवं विद्यालय के पूर्व छात्र श्री अशोक खंडूजा, सेवानिवृत्त मुख्य अभियंता (पी.एच.ई.डी.) ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस के महत्त्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए देश के वीर शहीदों के त्याग एवं बलिदान को स्मरण किया। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को शिक्षा के साथ अनुशासन, संस्कार, ईमानदारी एवं जिम्मेदारी को जीवन का अभिन्न अंग बनाने तथा राष्ट्रहित में कार्य करने के लिए प्रेरित किया।

समारोह का विशेष आकर्षण वार्षिक पुरस्कार वितरण रहा। विद्यालय के लगभग 500 विद्यार्थियों को उत्कृष्ट परीक्षा परिणाम, सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों, एनसीसी, खेलकूद एवं शत-प्रतिशत उपस्थिति के लिए सम्मानित किया गया। इसी श्रृंखला में बोर्ड परीक्षाओं, विद्यालय स्तरीय वार्षिक परीक्षाओं तथा विभिन्न विषयों में सर्वाधिक अंक प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थियों को क्रमशः ₹4100, ₹3100, ₹2100 एवं ₹1100 की नगद पुरस्कार राशि प्रदान की गई। सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में देशभक्ति से ओत-प्रोत समूहगान ‘देश पर जो मर मिटे हैं...’, ‘वंदे मातरम्’ के 150 वर्ष पूर्ण होने के उपलक्ष्य में प्रस्तुत ‘विकसित भारत’ की संकल्पना पर आधारित मनमोहक कोरियोग्राफी तथा हरियाली तीज की मनोहारी झांकी एवं नृत्य प्रस्तुति ने सभी को भाव-विभोर कर दिया। सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुतियों ने वातावरण में देशभक्ति, संस्कृति और नवऊर्जा का संचार किया।
कार्यक्रम के समापन पर प्राचार्य श्री नारायण सिंह जी ने सभी अतिथियों, प्रत्यक्ष एवं परोक्ष रूप से कार्यक्रम से जुड़े आचार्यगण, अभिभावकों एवं सहयोगियों का आभार व्यक्त किया।

Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya, Kurukshetra, celebrated Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas and its Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and a deep sense of national pride.

The programme was graced by Dr. Cheena Singh, P.G.I.D.S., Rohtak and an alumna of the school, as the Chief Guest, Brigadier, Shri Randhir Singh (Retd.) Indian Army (Key note speaker), Colonel, Shri Vijender Singh, Shri Ashok Khanduja, Retd. Chief Engineer, P.H.E.D. and an alumnus of the school (Distinguished guest), School management committee including President, Dr. Ghanshyam Sharma, Retd. chief scientist, N.D.R.I., Treasurer, Shri Randhir Walia, Shri Subhash ji, management committee member and Shri Akhilesh ji, parents' representative.

The ceremony commenced with Flag Hoisting, followed by an impressive NCC Parade, symbolising discipline, patriotism and national unity. The ceremonial Deep Prajwalan and Vandana marked the auspicious beginning of the programme.

Principal, Shri Narayan Singh, an exemplary leader and an epitome of dedication, formally introduced and welcomed the distinguished guests. His leadership and commitment to the holistic development of students continue to inspire the school community.

The vibrant group dance dedicated to one of Bhartiya festivals, Teej, patriotic group song and choreography showcased the students’ talent while reflecting the spirit of Indian culture and national pride.

A major highlight was the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony, conducted in four phases, in which around 500 students were honoured for their remarkable excellence in academics, 100% attendance (2025-26) and Narayan Talent Search Exam and Sanskriti Gyan Pariksha etc. The felicitation celebrated not merely excellence but also the values of perseverance, discipline and dedication.

The inspiring addresses by the key note Speaker, Distinguished Guest and the presiding dignitary emphasised discipline, hardwork, focus, patriotism, character-building, responsibility and the dire need to identify a very thin but strong line between ego and pride and finally the indispensability to have unwavering adherence to keep the nation first in what we do.
The address by the school’s alumna, Dr. Cheena Singh and her interaction with the present generation added a special sense of pride to the occasion. Defining education as freedom, she encouraged the learners to respect the teachers and to have patience, confidence and not to fall a prey to overconfidence during their journey to accomplishment.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the principal, Shri Narayan Singh, followed by the collective rendition of Vande Mataram, leaving the gathering with a renewed sense of patriotism, responsibility and commitment towards the nation.

On 8 August 2026, Gita Niketan Awasiya Vidyalaya, Luv Kush Bhawan, organised Rakhi Making, Slogan Writing, and Badge/Bookmark Making competitions for students of Classes VI to IX during the activity periods.

Students participated actively and enthusiastically, bringing their own ideas and creativity to each activity. The colourful Rakhis, thoughtful slogans, and beautifully designed badges and bookmarks reflected their imagination and artistic skills.

The activities provided students with a refreshing break from routine academics while encouraging creativity, patience, and self-expression. Students enjoyed working with different materials and exploring their ideas in a fun and engaging environment. The session was a simple yet meaningful experience that allowed students to learn, create, and enjoy together.
