Mr. Biden told the COP27 conference that the "very life of the planet" is at stake in the climate crisis and gave an assurance the United States is on track to slash carbon emissions.

The sea-side, port city of Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, is hosting over 45,000 registered participants as part of the 27th edition of the UN-Conference of Parties (UN-COP). The participants include representatives of the 195 member-countries of the UN-COP, business persons, scientists, and members of indigenous and local communities and activists.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his annual address to the Valdai Discussion Club, a Moscow-based think tank, on October 27 praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s independent foreign policy, saying that a lot has been done under his leadership in India.

He mentioned "A lot has been done under the leadership of PM Modi. He is a patriot of his country. His idea of 'Make in India' matters both economic wise and in ethics. The future belongs to India, it can be proud of the fact that it's the largest democracy in the world".

Demonetisation behind the buoyancy in tax collections, says RBI MPC member Ashima Goyal said.

Denomination was done on 8 November 2016 with the key objectives to curb black money flows and promote digital payments.

Demonetisation had short-term costs but some long-term benefits, Ms. Goyal said it enhanced digitisation and formalization in the economy and reduced tax evasion, although all this has further to go.
