گورنمنٹ بوائز ہائر اسکنڈری اسکول کاریہامہ ضلع ہیڈ کوارٹر کپوارہ سے تقریباً چھ کلومیٹر دور نہایت ہی خوبصورت اور پرسکون جگہ 📍🚩پر واقع ہے۔ یہ چاروں طرف سے جنگلات اور درختوں🌲🌳🌴🌲🌳🌴🌲🌳🌴 سے گھیرا ہوا ہے۔ یہ دوسرے قریبی علاقوں سے قدرے اونچائی پر واقع ہے۔ یہاں سے ہم دور دور کےگاؤں اور پہاڑوں کا نظارہ دیکھتے ہیں۔ جیسے ترہگام، باترگام، ہری، پوش واری وغیرہ۔
جن طلاب نے 80 کی دہائی میں یہاں تعلیم حاصل کی ہے ان کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ ادارہ اس زمانے سے کپوارہ کے اچھے اور معروف تعلیمی اداروں میں شامل کیا جاتا ہے۔ اس ادارے سے بڑی تعداد میں لوگوں نے تعلیم حاصل کی ہے۔ جو آج بڑے بڑے عہدوں پر کام کر رہے ہیں
اس ادارے میں یہاں کے پنڈت بھائیوں اور بہنوں نے تعلیم حاصل کر کے تعلیم🎒🏫📚🎓 کے نور کو پھیلانے میں اپنا شاندار رول ادا کیا ہے۔ ان کے شاگرد آج بھی انھیں بہترین الفاظ میں یاد کرتے ہیں۔ پنڈت لوگ آج بھی اس ادارے کو دیکھنے کے لئے آتے ہیں۔ ادارے کو دیکھ کر وہ بہت ہی جزباتی ہو جاتے ہیں۔ اپنے ماضی کو یاد کر کے وہ (ایشور)اوپر والے کی بارگاہ میں پرار تھنا کرتے ہیں کہ انہیں دوبارہ اپنے کھوئے ہوئے وطن میں امن و شا نتی کے ساتھ رہنے کا موقع ملے۔
جب ہم اس ادارے کے صحن اور میدان میں صبح کے وقت قدم رکھتے ہیں۔ تو ہم دنیا🌎 کی ساری پریشانیوں کو بھول جاتے ہیں اور نئی زندگی کی شروعات نئے ولو لے کے ساتھ کرتے ہیں۔
پھر جب ہمارے معصوم طلاب Morning Assembly میں اپنی خوبصورت آواز میں دعا کرتے ہیں۔ سارا ماحول گونج اٹھتا ہے ۔ آس پاس کا سارا 🌲🌲جنگل ان دعاوں کا جواب دیتا ہے۔ طلاب کے ساتھ ساتھ اساتذہ صاحبان بھی روحانی ماحول اور فضا میں مست ہو کر اپنے رب کے حضور اپنی اپنی فریاد لے کر حاضر خدمت ہوتے ہیں۔
اس ادارے کو الله تعالٰی نے ایک بہت ہی شاندار وسیع و عریض کھیل کا میدان عنایت کیا ہے۔ اس طرح کا میدان بہت ہی کم اداروں کو میسر ہے۔ یہ میدان سال بھر کھیل سرگرمیوں کا مرکز بنا رہتا ہے یہاں ہر سال کرکٹ اور فٹبال کے ٹورنامنٹ منعقد کئے جاتے ہیں۔ ان ٹورنامنٹوں میں نہ صرف مقامی طلاب اور کھلاڑی شرکت کرتے ہیں بلکہ کشمیر کے نامور کھلاڑی بھی ان ٹورنامنٹوں میں اپنے کھیل کا مظاہرہ کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن ستم ظریفی یہ ہے کہ یہ گورنمنٹ کی نظروں سے اوجھل ہے۔ اس کو Stadium کا درجہ دینے کی اشد ضرورت ہے۔ یہ اسکے لئے qualify بھی کرتا ہے۔
یہ مقامی پرندوں کے علاوہ جنگلی پرندوں🐦🐦 کا بھی آماجگاہ ہے۔ جو اپنی سریلی آوازوں میں نغمے گاکر ماحول کو اور پرسکون بناتے ہیں۔
ادارے کے اندر تقریباً روز 🐒🐒🐒🐒بندر ہوتے ہیں۔ انھوں نے اس کو اپنا Base Camp بنایا ہے انکی اچھل کود دیکھ کر طلاب بہت مزہ لیتے ہیں۔ یہ بندر School premises میں اپنے آپ کو safe اور secure محسوس کرتے ہیں۔ بندروں اور رنگ برنگے پرندوں کی موجودگی میں ادارہ کسی zoo سے کم نہیں لگتا ہے۔
چاندنی 🌙 راتیں خاصکر چودھویں کا 🌙 چاند یہاں کے ماحول کے حسن کو اور دوبالا کرتا ہے۔ انسان اس حسین منظر میں ڈوب کر ڈوبتے ہی رہنا چاہتا ہے۔ دنیا🌎 کے شور اور ہنگاموں میں واپس آنا نہیں چاہتا۔ یہ سحر انگیز اور پر کیف نظارہ شعراء، ادباء اور تحقیق کرنے والی شخصیات کے لئے انتہائی موزوں ہے۔
یہاں کے بسکین بہت ہی پیارے، اچھے ،بااخلاق اور ملنسار ہیں۔ اس ادارے کے طلاب ذہین ،مہذب اور شایستہ ہیں۔ وہ اپنی پڑھائی میں بہت سنجیدہ ہیں۔ ان کے اخلاق اور عادات بھی قابل ستائش ہیں۔ وہ اپنے اساتذہ کی بہت عزت اور احترام کرتے ہیں۔
ہمارا ادارہ رابندرناتھ ٹیگور کے شانتی نکیتن (Shantiniketan) سے کچھ کم نہیں۔ ہم یہ کہیں گے کہ ہمارا اسکول جنت کا ایک ٹکڑا ہے۔

A large scale plantation Drive was successfully organised today at Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Karihama, Kupwara, under the esteemed directions of the Honourable Minister for Education, Sakeena Masood Itoo Sahiba, and in coordination with the Worthy Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kupwara. The event was organised with the noble objective of instilling a deep sense of environmental responsibility among the youth and taking a meaningful step towards making Kupwara a greener, healthier district.
"Green plants are not merely a natural resource — they are the foundation of a sustainable future. Every sapling planted today is an investment in the health, beauty, and prosperity of Kupwara for generations to come."
The drive was held in keeping with the vision of Honourable Minister Education Sakeena Masood Itoo Sahiba, who has consistently championed the cause of environmental awareness within the educational framework of the district. Under her able guidance and the proactive leadership of the Chief Education Officer, Kupwara, the Department of School Education has been actively integrating green initiatives into institutional activities across the district.
The event witnessed an overwhelming and enthusiastic response from the entire school community. Lectures,Teachers and students came together in large numbers to participate in the plantation activity, collectively planting saplings across the school campus. The participants were sensitised to the critical importance of trees for ecological balance, clean air, and climate resilience — reinforcing the message that safeguarding the environment begins at the local level.
The initiative is part of the broader campaign to make Kupwara a Fully Green District — building a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful homeland for future generations.
The plantation drive at BHSS Karihama stands as a shining example of how educational institutions can serve as catalysts for community-level environmental action. The collective enthusiasm of students and teaching staff alike reflected a shared commitment to nurturing nature and embracing sustainability as a way of life.

The staff of Boys Higher Secondary School Karihama bid a heartfelt farewell to Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Bhat on 28/02/2026 Lecturer in Mathematics, on the occasion of his superannuation after rendering 37 years of dedicated and exemplary service in the field of education.
Hailing from Punzwa village of Kupwara district, Mr. Bhat faced hardships early in life, having lost his father at the tender age of nine. After loosing father too early,the whole responsibility lied on the shoulders of elder brother who played a pivotal role in Bhat Sahab life as a guardian and as a father too.A confession by Bhat Sahab during his farewell speech is a Clear evidence how his elder brother Shaped his life as a good Sculptor.Despite the challenges, he pursued his education with determination and completed his Post-Graduation in Mathematics from the University of Kashmir in 1990.
Throughout his long and distinguished career, Mr. Bhat served in several prestigious institutions including BHSS Kupwara, GHSS Kupwara, BHS Tikker and BHSS Karihama. In every institution he served, he left a lasting impression through his commitment to teaching and his dedication to the overall development of students.
Known for his exceptional teaching abilities, Mr. Bhat consistently produced outstanding results in Mathematics, with students achieving excellent scores, often touching the 100% mark. He has been a source of inspiration for countless students and colleagues, guiding them with his deep knowledge, wisdom and patience.
Beyond academics, Mr. Bhat also played a constructive role in community and institutional development. He was instrumental in efforts that contributed to the recognition of Villigam as an RBA area, which benefitted many people in the region. At BHSS Karihama, he played a significant role in infrastructure development, particularly in the installation of a water facility, which was made possible largely due to his personal efforts and dedication.
Mr. Bhat is widely regarded as a treasure of knowledge and a person of great humility. Gentle, helpful and ever willing to assist others, he has always been someone colleagues and students could rely on in times of need.
As he retires from active service, the staff and students of BHSS Karihama expressed their deep gratitude for his invaluable contributions. His departure will undoubtedly create a void in the institution, and he will always be remembered for his sincerity, dedication and remarkable service to education.
The school fraternity wished him a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling retired life ahead.
