Brief History of University of Kashmir

University of Kashmir was bifurcated from Jammu and Kashmir university in 1969.
Before it there was only one university in Jammu and Kashmir called Jammu and Kashmir university.
The university of Kashmir is situated in Hazrabal on the side of a Dal lake in Srinagar.The main campus of the university is divided into three parts which are Hazrabal campus, Naseem Bagh campus and Mirza Bagh campus . It's motto is from " darkness to light".It's accreditation by NAAC is grade A +.It's current vice chancellor is Nilofar Khan The campus is spread over 263 acres
