Army Goodwill School, Lolab celebrates

In the flushing meadows of Lolab, Army Goodwill School, Lolab celebrates, Chandigam celebrated its fourteenth annual day function on with lots of grandeur and splendor. As part of the celebrations school children performed various educational, cultural and entertainment programmes in front of a huge gathering from all over Lolab valley. The activities performed by the students included patriotic songs, various dance forms, ballad, qawali and skits. The whole attendance which included number of senior Army officers, civil dignitaries and local representatives were spell bound by the talent this school possessed.On culmination of the function, attractive prizes were given to the students who excelled in academics, sports and co-circular activities during the academic session. The prizes included school bags,books, sports items and were appreciated by the students and parents. Amongst the prize winners, prominent and well known names were of Master Basit Iqbal, a versatile singer who has been appreciatedupto state level, Master Abrar Aijaz Wani, an intelligent scholar his invention of using type writer which can be utilised by blind people made him reach National Science Exhibition and Miss Rubina Akhtar, a master of debate. The Principal of the school, Mrs Zahida Maqbool was very busy coordinating the events and expressed her gratitude and thanks to the children who made this function a success.During the interaction with media one of the Army Official expressed that the school will continue to thrive for excellence and will do its best within available resources to impart quality education to students. He also told that the school was started in yr 2000 as a welfare institution to meet the primary schooling requirement of the poor locals in the remote border villages. The school aims at the overall development of children’s personality with exposure to games, extra co-curricular activities besides providing quality education to them. Since its inception the school has received overwhelming response and is very popular among the locals. In the yr 2013, the school achieved the distinction of the best school in entire North Kashmir courtesy its academic excellence whereinsixteen students out of forty scored distinction marks in class tenth examination. Continuing the tradition this year fourteen out of thirty eight students got distinction in tenth class examination

ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL CHANDIGAM SHINESKupwara, April 21:Army Goodwill School Chandigam has once again proved that the standards achieved by it through years of hard work and dedication are an exemplary epitome of quality education provisioned at this temple of knowledge.Testimony to this were the two events, Naath Competition organized by Zonal Physical Education Dept and Debate competition organized byJ&K police Kupwara both at Girls Higher Secondary School ,Sogam on 15th and 16th of April respectively.Master BasitIqbal Khan S/O MohdIqbal, Doonwari student of 10th standard in AGS Chandigam secured the 1st position in the Naath Competition leaving behind other participants from around twenty schools and colleges in Lolab, which talks volumes of the talent of this young singer.Another golden feather in the crown of AGS, Chandigam was in the from ofthe budding talents Miss Rubina Akbar D/O Mohd Akbar Sheikh, Badibera, student of 10th standard in AGS Securing the top positions in theDebate Competition among participants from more than twenty schools and colleges in Lolab. The Debate competition with subject “Problem of Drug Addiction among Youth” was witnessed by SP Kupwara, Rahul Malik who also gave away the prizes to the winners.Both the winners attributed their success to the excellent support and motivation given to them by their beloved school.
