After the light rains of 20th ,21st may 2026 , the famous early historic site of lestiyal kalaroose has got cracks within the monolithic megastone depicting seven intricate carvings , which are depicted in the lime stone and is highly soluble in water . Due to the rains , the cracks have removed one of its huge portion ,seen lying on the ground. It is therefore requested to the concerned department of j&k state archives, archaeology and museum Srinager , District administration kupwara , concerned Tourism department and Archaeological survey of India circle srinagar J &K to look into the matter for restoration and for further preservation and conservation .
