An awareness programme and training session on Disaster Management was successfully organized on 7th January 2026 by REACHA, in collaboration with the District Administration Kulgam and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at Govt Higher Secondary School Qaimoh.The programme was organized under the leadership of Mir Ubaid (State Lead, REACHA), Perzada Azhar (Member, REACHA), and Riyaz Ahmad Langee (Member, REACHA). The SDRF team, comprising Shabir Hussain and M. Abbas, conducted practical demonstrations and sensitized participants on disaster preparedness, emergency response, and life-saving techniques.The event was graced by distinguished guests including Tehsildar Qaimoh/Kulgam Mr. Nisar Ahmad Wani, Principal Govt Higher Secondary School Qaimoh, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir, Dy. SP Mohd. Farhan, , and SHO Qaimoh Mr. Kushab Kumar, among others.A large number of teachers, students, Lumbardars, Chowkidars, and other community members actively participated in the programme. The session proved to be highly informative and interactive, emphasizing the importance of community awareness, coordination, and preparedness during natural and man-made disasters.
The programme concluded with appreciation for REACHA, District Administration, and SDRF for their valuable efforts in strengthening disaster resilience at the grassroots level.
The year 2025 was a landmark year for Government Higher Secondary School Qaimoh, Kulgam. Under the visionary leadership of the worthy Principal, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir, and the sincere dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff, the institution achieved notable academic and co-curricular milestones.
The District Employment and Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Kulgam organized a one-day program on Women Entrepreneurship and Self Help Group (SHG) Mela at the Auditorium Hall of Government Higher Secondary School Qaimoh.
The program aimed to promote women entrepreneurship, self-employment, and awareness about SHGs, highlighting various government schemes and livelihood opportunities available for women. Participants were sensitized about skill development, financial assistance, and the importance of SHGs in economic empowerment.
Bal Diwas celebrated at Govt Higher Secondary School Qaimoh.Mr.Showkat Hussain, Lecturer Commerce gave detailed information to students on said event. Mr. Zahoor Sb PEM also contributed and took part in the program.
The Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), *Mr. Naseer Ahmad Wani*, today participated in the *PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) Programme* held in Kulgam, where he interacted with officers, educators, and media persons.
While addressing the gathering, the Director highlighted that the PARAKH initiative focuses on competency-based assessment, emphasizing conceptual understanding, analytical ability, communication, and real-life application of knowledge. He underlined that the programme marks a significant shift from rote memorisation to meaningful learning outcomes.
Briefing the media, Mr. Naseer Ahmad Wani stated that writing skills form the backbone of effective assessment reforms, enabling students to articulate their understanding with clarity and confidence. He stressed the crucial role of teachers in nurturing writing habits through classroom-based activities, projects, and reflective learning practices.
The programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Waqar Ahmad Geeri; Joint Director School Education, Kishore Kumar,Chief Education Officer Kulgam, Muhammad Shabbir,Principal DIET Kulgam, Rifat Sarosh, UT Nodal Officer PARAKH, Ghulam Hassan Reshi, District Nodal Officer PARAKH Kulgam and Principal HSS Qimoh, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir(Coordinator of the Program), besides other officers and officials.

The School Education Department, Kashmir, reiterated its commitment to implementing national assessment reforms and strengthening holistic education to improve learning outcomes across schools in the region.
The hand-driven mobile charger, which was designed and developed by Murtaza Rafeeq under the mentorship of Sartaj Ahmad Teacher, at HSS Qaimoh.
