Ramadan's crescent moon whispers goodbye, but the spirit of giving doesn't have to fade. Think of Ramadan as a training camp for kindness, generosity, and self-reflection. You wouldn't stop exercising after boot camp, would you?

Keep the momentum going! A simple smile for a stranger, a helping hand to a neighbor, or a voluntary shift at a local charity – these acts, big or small, light up your world and the world around you.

Remember, good deeds are like seeds. Plant them throughout the year, nurture them with compassion, and watch them blossom into a life overflowing with purpose and blessings. Ramadan may be ending, but your journey of becoming a better you is just beginning. Let your good deeds flourish!

Eid ul Fitr Mubarak.

When you give to charity, you’re doing something bigger than just handing out cash. It’s about being kind and showing that you care about others. It’s also a big deal in Islam, where giving away some of your money is a way to improve your heart and your place in the community.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said it best: “Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status.” (Sahih Muslim 2588). It’s a pretty cool way of looking at things.

Think about it: when you help someone, you start a chain reaction of good vibes. It’s like throwing a pebble in a pond and watching the ripples spread. And it’s not just the person you helped who feels better—you do, too.

So, giving to charity isn’t just about the money. It’s about putting a little bit of love and care out into the world. And who knows? That might just come back to you in ways you’d never expect. It’s all about being good to others and finding real richness in being kind and generous.

As the last few days of Ramadan are upon us, it’s time to reflect. Have you truly understood its essence? Ramadan is more than just fasting, feasting, or reciting verses (without understanding them). It’s a personal battle, a jihad against your own desires. It’s about taming your temper, reigning in your cravings, and fortifying your faith. This discipline purifies your intentions and strengthens your bond with Allah.

As Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “The true warrior is the one who battles his own soul” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1621). It isn’t a war fought with swords and shields, but a struggle within against your ego and bad habits. Each time you choose kindness over anger, promise over duping, patience over haste, you claim a victory.

As Ramadan draws to a close, let its teachings stay with you. Carry this spirit of self-improvement into your everyday life. The true warrior, the true mujahid, is the one who fights this inner battle every day, striving to become a better version of themselves for the sake of Allah.

My father has a saying that’s stuck with me. He always says that real giving should cost us something. He believes that if a donation or service doesn’t pinch a bit, it’s just your duty (Fardh). Hey says that "Charity" is about offering something that took effort to earn or might be hard to replace. And yes, even a smile counts as charity, though it’s the simplest form of it. So, strive not merely to display your teeth but to bring joy to someone through meaningful service genuinely.

Indeed, true giving isn’t just about what’s extra or what’s left over. It’s about parting with something that you hold dear, something that whispers to you, “Hold on to me a little longer.” The Qur'an beautifully puts it: “You will never achieve righteousness until you donate some of what you cherish. And whatever you give is certainly well known to Allah.” (Chapter Aal-Imraan, Verse 92).

This verse pushes us to go beyond the easy gifts. It’s about the treasured item you’re reluctant to let go of, the spare time you could have spent relaxing, the comfort zone you decide to step out of – these are the sacrifices that reveal true kindness.

A small gift might add a little glow, but giving something you value can make the flame blaze brightly. It becomes a ray of hope for those who need it, a sign of your compassion, and a mirror reflecting the vast goodness within you. So, open your heart wide, and let your kindness shine brilliantly.

When your heart yearns to connect with Allah, there’s a special place for you - the sujood (prostration). It’s a shelter where language has no barriers. You can pour out your heart, sharing your joys and sorrows in any language. Allah, who knows all, cherishes your sincerity and submission. In return, you’ll find comfort and peace of mind.

Let your tears flow. They’re not just water; they’re the strength that bolsters your spirit and the compassion that feeds your humanity. These tears are seeds of dua (supplication), longing to sprout. Sujood is the fertile soil. Your openness and honesty nourishes them. In this sacred space, Allah witnesses your surrender. He already knows your heart, yet He listens with love, finding beauty in your raw emotions.

As you express your feelings, a deep peace envelops you. Sujood becomes a haven, a shelter from life’s tempests. Here, amidst tears and vulnerability, dua blossoms into hope and healing. Let your tears flow freely; they are a bridge to Allah’s boundless mercy.

What do you call someone who gives their all yet doesn’t see the results they hoped for? A failure? A disappointment? Not in the eyes of the Creator. While the world may judge us by our results, the Creator values our struggle.

Visualize being on a vast ocean. We hold the steering wheel, set our course, and brave the waves. The world may measure us by whether we reach the shore or get lost at sea, but there’s an unseen force guiding our journey. We may control the ship, but Allah controls the sea.

So, while the world celebrates success, Allah values our relentless effort, focus amidst the storm, and spirit that refuses to break. The Qur’an reminds us, “Each person will only have what they endeavoured towards” (an-Najm: 39). It’s our struggle, dedication, and determination that truly defines us, not the end result.

Success or failure might be beyond our control, but the effort we put into our journey is entirely up to us. This immense effort is what Allah sees and rewards. So, let’s sail with intention, battle the waves with faith, and trust that even the roughest seas are leading us to a divine destination.

Tonight, we step into the heart of Ramadan, a time shimmering with sacredness! These ten nights cradle Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree, a night shrouded in divine mystery yet brimming with blessings. The Quran enlightens us, “The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months” (Surah Qadr: 3). The reason? This is the night when the Quran is revealed (Surah Qadr: 1).

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) deeply grasped the profoundness of these nights. He would fasten his belt tighter (symbolizing heightened devotion) and immerse himself in prayer throughout the night, even rousing his family (Agreed Upon). The reward promised is beyond measure. Another hadith assures us, “Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven…” (Agreed Upon).

Tradition whispers that Laylatul Qadr is nestled within these last ten nights (Agreed Upon). So, let’s seize this opportunity. Amplify your prayers, immerse in the recitation of the Quran, and engage in acts of kindness. This is a window for spiritual rejuvenation, a night where your endeavors can equal a lifetime of worship. Welcome these blessed nights with an open heart and feel your spirit ascend.

Life is a grand adventure. It tosses all sorts of surprises our way - the highs, the lows, and everything in between. But here's a secret weapon to keep you on top: doing good! It’s like a refreshing rain shower that cleanses the earth, making everything fresh and new.

The Holy Qur'an echoes this sentiment beautifully. In Surah Huud, Verse 114, it says: “Establish Salaah (prayer) at both ends of the day and in the early part of the night. Surely, good deeds wipe out evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.” This verse is like a friendly reminder that our good actions can erase our mistakes.

Have you ever seen how a single drop of ink can make a glass of water murky? Similarly, one wrong move can complicate our lives. But the beauty of goodness is that it can clear these complications. Just like pouring fresh water into the glass, doing good things can clear away those problems. It might take a while, but eventually, the water will become clear again.

So, here’s a gentle nudge for you. It’s never too late to turn things around. Adopt goodness, no matter how small, and watch as it clears away the troubles of yesteryears, leaving you with a sense of peace and rejuvenation.

Consider a person who’s been wronged. They’re in a tough spot; their pleas for help are falling on deaf ears, and they’re so overwhelmed with sadness that it’s hard for them to voice their pain. In these moments of deep hurt, the Messenger of God, Muhammad ﷺ, gives us a powerful reminder, “Beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah” (Agreed Upon). It means that the prayers of those who have been wronged reach Allah directly, untouched by worldly power or social standing.

Oppression can take many forms - it could be harsh words from a bully, a broken promise, or simply the feeling of being ignored. Each one leaves a scar, a longing for justice. When we witness such pain, it’s a call to action. Even a kind word or a helping hand can offer some comfort. Those who might seem powerless actually hold a lot of strength in the eyes of Allah.

In war-torn places like Palestine, people suffer immensely. They’re hurt by powerful forces who steal, harm, kill children, r**e women, and commit unimaginable atrocities. It’s hard to fathom the extent of their suffering. Those who misuse their power will face their reckoning someday. But if we stay silent and don’t help those suffering in wars, like the Palestinians, we’re indirectly supporting the oppressors - the ones stealing, harming, and committing all sorts of crimes. And we should be ready to face the consequences if they pray against us, for their prayers will reach Allah!

So, let’s raise our voices and do what we can to help! Be a shield for those who can’t defend themselves. Speak up against injustice, no matter how small it might seem. Your actions, even if they seem small, can start a wave of kindness. By standing up for fairness and kindness, we can help create a world where everyone’s voice is heard and no prayer for justice goes unanswered. Let’s strive to be part of the solution, not the problem. Let’s stand for justice, for peace, for humanity.
