Welcome Ceremony at HSS KB Pora
The institution celebrated a warm and festive welcome ceremony for the new entrants of Class 9 and the Class 9 pass out students who have now advanced to Class 10.
The Class 9 results were declared on November 1, 2025, and regular academic activities for both Classes 9 and 10 commenced today.
The event was marked by an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm. The entire staff participated actively in extending a heartfelt welcome to the students. The school wore a vibrant and festive look, beautifully decorated by the staff members to mark the occasion.
As part of the celebration, light refreshments and sweets were distributed among the students. Additionally, several students were felicitated for their outstanding academic performance and achievements in co-curricular activities.
The ceremony reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and holistic development among its students.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to student and his esteemed mentor for their excellent presentation on the steps taken by the French revolutionaries to create a sense of collective identity among the French people.
The clarity of ideas, depth of understanding, and confident delivery reflected not only the student’s dedication and hard work but also the able guidance and mentorship behind the preparation.

A mega sports event was organized at Higher Secondary School Khuri Bata Pora, featuring exciting competitions between intra-school students and teachers. The event included various games such as chess, football, volleyball,kho-kho, tug of war,and fun activities that showcased both athletic skills and team spirit. Students participated with great enthusiasm, while teachers also joined in, making the occasion lively and memorable. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, healthy competition, and a strong bond between teachers and students.

A Moment of Pride for HSS KB Pora Kulgam
We are thrilled to share that Ms. Rutba Jan, a talented student of Class 10, has brought great honor to our institution by representing District Kulgam in the prestigious Science Model Exhibition organized by SCERT Srinagar.
It is pertinent to mention that Rutba is a first generation learner and comes from humble background. Despite all the odds , it is ensured that the students get the best possible education and experiences and exposure.
This outstanding feat has been made possible through the dedicated mentorship of Mr. Abdul Majeed Malik and the constant support and encouragement of our respected Principal, Mr. Maqbool Hussain Rahi.

On today’s event, a Class 11th student (Muneeb Ahmad) captivated the audience with a beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran. The soothing and melodious voice created a serene and spiritual ambiance, leaving everyone deeply moved and inspired. It was a truly heart-touching moment that added grace to the entire program.
As part of PAIGAM initiative, HSS K. B. Pora today celebrated five years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 with the theme NEP: From Policy to Practice. The event featured debates, discussions, and NEP-oriented cultural programmes highlighting key themes such as experiential learning, skill development, and technology integration.
The mela highlighted the school’s efforts in implementing NEP at the grassroots level and reaffirmed its commitment to holistic and inclusive education.

An election for the post of Head Boy and Head Girl was conducted in the school, in which all students actively participated and cast their votes. Among the boys, Kashif Qayoom was elected as the Head Boy, and among the girls, Urmilla Mashooq was elected as the Head Girl. The event promoted democratic values and leadership qualities among the students.
Mr Khurshid Ahmad, Master HSS K. B. Pora delivered an inspiring moral lecture during the morning assembly. He emphasized the importance of honesty, discipline, and respect in our daily lives. Through real-life examples, he explained how good values shape the character and help the students to become responsible citizens. He encouraged the students to always speak the truth, be kind to others, and work hard towards their goals.
