JKSSB Junior Assistant Recruitment – CAT Srinagar Bench

The petition relating to the JKSSB Junior Assistant Recruitment was listed today for first hearing before the Hon’ble CAT Srinagar Bench at Serial No. 01 (Admission Stage).
During the hearing, the Hon’ble Bench referred to several judgments of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and categorically observed that once an advertisement is issued, its terms and conditions cannot be altered at a later stage. The Bench further held that the use of the word “tentative” in the advertisement does not make the conditions non-binding or provisional in nature.
The Tribunal emphasized that the recruitment process must strictly adhere to the procedure prescribed in the original advertisement. Consequently, it was held that typing test has to be conducted first for the post of Junior Assistant, exactly as notified in the advertisement.
In view of these observations, the case was disposed of with a clear direction that the typing test shall be conducted first, in accordance with the advertisement conditions.

The CAT Srinagar Bench, in today’s first hearing, held that once an advertisement is issued, its terms cannot be changed. The word “tentative” does not make the conditions flexible. The Tribunal directed that the typing test must be conducted first as per the original advertisement, and the case has been disposed of accordingl
