GHSS kulgam participated in Drug abuse and illict Traffiking-a seminar organised by District Social Welfare in collaboration with District Administration and District Youth services and Sports Kulgam:
The District Social welfare Kulgam organised a seminar on Drug Abuse and illicit Trafficking in Collaboration with District Youth services and Sports and District Administration Kulgam today on 26.6.2023 under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Campaign. Students from different streams of Govt.Girls Model Higher Secondary school kulgam also took part in this campaign. The aim of this year’s campaign is to raise awareness about the importance of treating people who use drugs with respect and empathy; providing evidence-based, voluntary services for all; offering alternatives to punishment; prioritizing prevention; and leading with compassion. The campaign also aims to combat stigma and discrimination against people who use drugs by promoting language and attitudes that are respectful and non-judgmental. The seminar also laid thrust to aware the youth especially Students about the illicit Trafficking of Drugs and it's harmful effects. In addition to GHSS kulgam, Students from different schools of The District also participated in this seminar. Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department JK *tal_Nanda Ji urged the students to face the challenges of life with courage not through drugs. Earlier a grand rally was organised in which a large number of Girls / Boys from different schools showcased the ill effects of drugs through their placards and slogans.The rally started from Mini Secretariat Kulgam to Degree College Kulgam.
Moreover, different competitions of different age groups viz Essay writing, Painting etc were held to showcase the ill effects of this menace. GHSS kulgam bagged various positions in almost all the completions held on the eve of this particular day.

2. Asifa Jan, 2nd position in under 16 Painting Competition
3. Irtiza Sartaj, 3rd position in above 16 Painting Competition

Accordingly these position holders from GHSS kulgam were felicitated by Commissioner Secretary and District Administration kukgam for their outstanding performances in these events held on the eve of Drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

today on 24/06/2023 organized a grand function to honour and bid adieu to as both were transfered to HSS Kilam and HSS Pahloo respectively under ATD of MTS 2023.Speaking on the ocassion, , principal GHSS kulgam appreciated the roles played by these outgoing employees. He said,

Govt.Girls Model Higher Secondary school kulgam organized The International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2023, which is celebrated all over the world. “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well-being.”
International Yoga Day was celebrated by the students and teachers at GHSS kulgam with great enthusiasm. Students of grade 9th _ 12th demonstrated various yoga asanas.
The students performed various asanas to bring out the importance of yoga in serving better mental health practices in our lives. The asanas also help in maintaining a steady posture and reduce mental tiredness, stress and anxiety. They conveyed a message that practising yogasanas regularly can help to maintain a healthy body and a healthy mind. It is a movement dedicated to the youth to inspire them to come together for the sustainability and global harmony.
Moreover, principal GHSS Kulgam, also participated in the Yogasanas and set an example for the whole GHSSK Family to perform these ahasnas on regular basis.

World Environment Day 2023: Every year, World Environment Day is observed globally on June 5. It is celebrated to mark the importance of nature and the environment and it also gives out a message to the global population that nature should not be undervalued and it should not be taken for granted at any cost.
In this regard, a grand function was organised today at during the wee hours of the day to mark its importance. The principal welcomed the students and staffers with an opening speech giving an insight into the importance of the day. He made the students aware of the need to take immediate action to save the environment and Mother Earth. He further added that, "Let us celebrate the occasion of World Environment Day by working together to save our planet from everything that harms it. Warm wishes on this day."
Meanwhile, Madam , lecture Enviornmental Science addressed the gathering of students and staffers with an enlightened speech and requested all to spread the awareness of saving the environment. Se asked each one to do their bit by stopping the use of plastic bags, stop wasting food and start recycling for a green tomorrow. Children should lead the eco-revolution and become change-makers, she said.
Students and staffers took pledge to take an initiative to save the environment and doing their bit for a cleaner and greener Earth. They enthusiastically participated in activities such as posters making, and painting on themes of water conservation and beat plastics. Writing articles on banning the use of plastic and writing slogans.
The celebrations ended with educating students on how to plant and adopt a tree and motivated them to plant more and more trees and beat plastic to save mother Earth.

Today on 27th of May 2023, Nehru Yuva kendra Kulgam/Anantnag organised a YUVA UTSAV at Govt Girls Model Higher Secondary school kulgam. The theme of the mega event under the banner was .
: India’s developed standards:
Cleanliness campaigns, vaccinations, electrical connections, the elimination of open defecation, and the usage of solar energy are all examples of established India standards according to the Panch Pran. A prime illustration of “liberation from the concept of servitude” is the New National Education Policy.
The day long programme was presided over by Worthy District Development Commissioner kulgam Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat (IAS). The ocassion was also graced by Worthy Chief Education officer kulgam Mr M. A. Qadri, ACR kulgam, Deputy Director Nehru Yuva kendra, president Muncipal Council kulgam and other officers from District administration kulgam.
The theme of programme being panch pran and in this regard different events were held which included poetry, painting, photography, cultural events and Declamation. Almost 200 students from various schools of District kulgam participated in these events.
The students of GHSS kulgam had also installed some stalls from Atal Tinkering Lab, Herbal Garden etc thereby showing their worth in their studies and scientific innovations. These stalls were inspected by the guests present on the ocassion. The efforts put forward by the students of GHSS kulgam were appreciated by all the dignitaries especially Deputy Commissioner kulgam and CEO kulgam while inspecting these stalls.
Speaking on the ocassion, Deputy Commissioner kulgam Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat hailed the efforts put forward by the organisers in general and GHSS kulgam in particular. He said that the aim of organising such programmes is to creat an atmosphere of intrest and provide platform to the youth to showcase their talent in different fields.
While the programme was advancing in a diligent manner, the cultural wing from the institution highlighted various issues pertaining to the society. They also presented some traditional Kashmiri songs which were worth to watch.
Before the culmination of the mega event participants who participated in different activities and events and got positions were felicitated by the organisers and the Head of the institution for their outstanding performances.
Mr Tariq Ahmad Bhat (HOI) while presenting thanking note, appreciated and applauded the efforts put forward by the district administration and providing opportunities to GHSS kulgam in organising such programmes. He also congratulated the staffers for their dedication and making the event a success and students for showing their potential and worth in different event and bagging positions in almost all events.

The event participated by more than 400 students of GHSS .The event graced by Worthy SHO Kulgam Syed Ayaz Geelani, Incharge Principal GHSS Kulgam Mr.Tariq Ah Bhat ,ZPEO Kulgam Khursheed Ah Dar and staffers of GHSS Kulgam.while speaking on the event SHO Kulgam acknowledged the girl students regarding their rights and powers and also assured them for every possible support.The whole program culminated under the supervision of DR.Akbar, Mr.Farooq Ah wani and Lecturer Rayees Ahmad.

With the dawn of 31th of March 2023, whole started their preparations to bid adieu to one of their beloved, dedicated and generous lecturer, (Lecturer Mathematics) who attained superannuation after rendering almost 38 years of tireless services in the department of Education.
The teaching faculty and supporting staffers gathered here in the main campus of GHSS kulgam to show their love, respect and affection to , a mentor and a guide. Today, we all realized how time flies.
The function began with charged emotions and tearful eyes. welcome speech was delivered by and . The other activities were also conducted as per the procedure designed by the organisers. Almost all the faculty members in their own style and conduct hailed the contribution and efforts put forward by the most veteran, dedicated, generous and diligent staff member of the institution in developing sports and scientific temperament among the students.
Speaking on the ocassion, in his unique style presented the contribution of the out going staff member. He further added, "It gives me great pleasure to say that we must recognize, respect and appreciate all the valuable skills and knowledge our dear had imparted onto us, and to thank him for all his efforts and hard work. Of course, I know how painful it is, to say goodbye to someone who is less of a teacher but more a friend and exceptional leader. However, we all need to express our sincerest gratitude to him for all his uncommon contributions to realizing the educational programmes and development of the school.
The 06 odd years he had spent imparting the right skills and knowledge onto the students, seems like it was yesterday he started this stuff. I have no doubt on my mind to say that he is an achiever, open-minded, generous, knowledgeable, modest, courageous, responsible and highly respected lecturer. Yes, we must respect and appreciate the fact that he had being helpful to us in any way.
Throughout his stay in the school, he was an outstanding tutor and committed to promoting excellence in the education sector. You are always tolerant and eager to help when we have things bothering our minds. Indeed, your exceptional qualities have inspired us in so many ways. This, we will all remember you for, and the sweet memories that we had together will remain in our hearts forever.
Thank you, for teaching your subjects with a passion. Your own teaching skills with modern techniques make it easier and fun for every student to contribute actively thereby making your class an engaging class for all. Permit me to use this medium to ask for your forgiveness if we have hurt your feelings knowingly or unknowingly in the course of discharging your duties in .

He added, The day when I first walked into the school premises is still fresh and new in my mind. At that time life felt so difficult and hard. But with the passage of time, the guidance by the senior faculty members and the love and affection by the students guided me in the discharge of my duties. The scene became more and more emotional as the words crafted with emotions and feelings came out from the crest of his heart. As the tears were rolling down the cheeks, each and every word was having a great impact on the minds of the audience. He left no stone unturned to pour out his feelings regarding the school in general and the Students in particular. He further added that, "I am leaving this office today and, most importantly, all my nice colleagues, which is very painful. I can not express my sorrow of leaving to all of you. You have made me so special and given me a place I can never forget in your heart. I still remember all those things we made in the office.

Govt Girls Model Higher Secondary school kulgam today on 25/03/2023 accorded warm welcome to Mr M. A Qadri on assuming charge as new Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kulgam.
During his maiden visit to GHSS kulgam as CEO, the officer was warmly welcomed by all the staffers of GHSS kulgam. Speaking on the ocassion vice principal Mr B A Naikoo, while referring to the chair highlighted some issues and expressed hope that the incumbent officer will play a vital role in mitigating the suffering of teachers teaching faculty. "Since much is heard of your dynamism, honesty and promoter of work culture it is hoped that the education sector of District kulgam will touch new heights under your dynamic control and will progress on desired lines,” he said while referring to the new CEO. On the occasion the Mr B. A. Naikoo extended its support and cooperation to the officer from the GHSS Family when and wherever needed.
Chief Education officer kulgam Mr M. A. Qadri in his maiden speech said that he was overwhelmed by the love and honour extended by the teaching community of GHSS kulgam .
He also assured that each and every issue will be addressed on priority basis.

Today on 23/02/2023 a grand and marvelous farewell function was organised by the GHSS Family in the school premises to honour and (Master GHSS kulgam) on their superannuation . The function was attended by Deputy CEO kulgam, officials /officers of CEO's office kulgam and the ever agile staffers of GHSS kulgam. Speaking on the occassion, the CEO kulgam first of all appreciated the efforts put forward by the GHSS Family in inculcating the education among the students from the whole district. CEO kulgam while addressing the gathering threw light on his journey in the department of Education. He said.....
I have spent 38 years in this department and last three years with many of you as CEO of District kulgam. It is delightful to acknowledge that you have given me the best working conditions and environment to deliver my duties and responsibilities. Thus, I now feel it’s the best time to retire from my position and allow other young and charismatic ones to take over the position.
Speaking on the ocassion, , principal GHSS kulgam expressed his gratitude and paid respect to the officials /Officers who were going to retire after rendering their services in the department of Education. Their dedication and devotion towards their duties shall be remembered and their foot marks shall be followed to enlighten the community. While paying respect to the retirees, the Head of the institution in his unique way bid adieu to both of them.
