Rule : 5 Not only.......but also Conjunction হিসেবে সমজাতীয় Word এর পূর্বে বসে। এ ক্ষেত্রে hot only' Subject, Verb এবং Object এর পূর্বে বসলে but also'ও যথাক্রমে Subject, Verb ও Object এর পূর্বে বসে।

যেমন-(i) Incorrect: Mita not only went to cinema but also Rita.
Correct : Not only Mita but also Rita went to cinema.

(ii) Incorrect: She not only earned but also she spent.
Correct : She not only earned but also spent.

(iii) Incorrect: Not only Rani bought a pen but also a book.
Correct: Rani bought not only a pen but also a book.

Rule 3: কোন কাজ নিজের শক্তিতে করা বোঝালে 'on' কিন্তু অন্যের শক্তিতে করা বোঝালে 'by' বসে। যেমন:
(i) The president went to the guest house on foot.
(ii) He will go abroad by air.

Rule 4: 'unless, untill, lest, none, nobody, never, hardly, barely, scarcely, rarely' -প্রভৃতি এমনিতেই Negative। তাই এদের সাথে 'no, not, nothing' ব্যবহারের প্রয়োজন নেই। যেমন:

(i) Incorrect: Wait here unitll I (do not) return.
Correct Wait here untill I return.

(ii) Incorrect: Never (do not) tell a lie.
Correct: Never tell a lie.

Rule-2 'no' এর পর Noun বসে, কিন্তু 'not' এর পর Adjective বা Adverb বসে। যেমন:

(i) He has no education (Noun).

(ii) He is not interested to study (Adjective).

Note: 'no' দ্বারা যুক্ত Noun বা Pronoun, কোন Sentence এর Subject হলে, Verb টি Singular হয়।

যেমন: No one does this.
