Sree Ramakrishna Higher Secondary School Calicut Our Sweet School A BRIEF HISTORY:
Om. In 1943 it was affiliated to the Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Kolkata. Later Swami Sekharananda joined with him.

Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama owes its origin to a group of devotees who formed a “Vedanta Sangha” at Chalapuram, in a rented house in 1930. At the beginning Swami Nirvikarananda was sent here to guide the devotees. In 1944 Swami Sekharananda purchased five acres of land at Meenchanda. In 1945 a Gurukulam was started with six orphan boys who lost their parents in the cholera epidemic. The activities in the field of education at this center were started in 1954. The School grew well under the leadership of Swami Vipapmananda. During the Centenary Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda in 1964, the Malayalam translation of the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda and the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna were done here. Later a small Charitable Dispensary was also started to serve the local people. In the year 2000 a Higher Secondary School was started with two disciplines viz., Science and Humanity. In 2009 Prayer Hall was renovated and inaugurated.
