​"​One of the main reasons for many conflicts in today’s world is the separation between science and religion. Actually, religion and science should go hand in hand. Both science without religion and religion without science are incomplete. But society is trying to segregate us into religious people and scientific people. Scientists claim religion and spirituality are based on blind faith, whereas science is fact because it has been proven through experimentation. Their question is: Which side are you on? Faith or proven fact? It is inaccurate to say religion and spirituality are based on blind faith and that their principles have not been proven. In fact, spiritual masters may have undertaken even more exhaustive research than modern scientists. Just as modern scientists research the external world, the great sages conducted research in the inner laboratories of their minds. From this point of view, they too were scientists. In reality, the foundation of true religion is not blind faith; it is sraddha. Sraddha is enquiry—an intense exploration within one’s own self. What is the nature of the experienced world? How does it function in perfect harmony? From where did it come? Where is it going? Where will it lead? Who am I? Such was their enquiry. Who asks these kinds of questions—people of faith or people of science? Both do. The sages of the past were not only great intellectuals; they were seers who had realized the Truth. Intellectuals are definitely an asset to society. However, mere words and thoughts are not enough. Devi replied, 'I am studying.' That is how infinite knowledge is. Won’t humility come when we remember that even the Goddess Saraswati is studying? Never let go of humility. We should always remain as a beginner, like a child endowed with tremendous faith, patience and enthusiasm. Such should be our attitude towards life and the experiences life brings to us. Then we will keep on learning. Our bodies have grown in all directions but not the mind.
