Rest in peace, Nithin Raj - our brother, who was victimised by casteist atrocity and discrimination by the faculty members of Ancharakandy Dental College.

Many educational institutions in this country have become spaces of segregation, where caste privilege is protected and oppression is normalised. Students who lack social capital, and who fight against caste barriers to access education as a form of justice, are forced to survive in such hostile environments. Those who are meant to spread knowledge and liberate students instead carry forward their ancestral casteist notions.

We refuse to stay silent. The world is watching and will not forget the injustices done to the sons and daughters of this country. Dear Nithin, you never failed. The system failed you - and in doing so, it failed all of us. We share your anger. Rest in power.

Your memory will fuel resistance.

Remembering Rohith is an act of resistance against caste oppression, administrative violence, and all forms of injustice that operate within educational spaces. As a student community, his words, his vision of the world, and his belief in art, people, and dignity continue to inspire struggles for equality, justice, and democratic rights.

Solidarity with the Students of FTII and SRFTI

We, the students of K.R. Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts (KRNNIVSA), stand in unwavering solidarity with the students of FTII and SRFTI, who are courageously fighting for what is right — for transparency, for equality, and for justice. Their struggle is not theirs alone; it is the collective voice of every student who believes that education must remain a space of fairness and equal opportunity.

We echo the demands of the students of FTII and SRFTI for the immediate cessation of the unconstitutional practice of freezing reserved category candidates within their category, even when their merit qualifies them for selection in the unreserved (general) category. We also demand the immediate publication of a transparent and corrected final merit list, ensuring that eligible reserved category candidates are allowed to migrate to the unreserved category based on their merit in the later stages of admission. These demands are rooted in the principles of social justice, equality, and the rightful implementation of the reservation policy.

Such failures are not isolated incidents. They represent a larger pattern of constitutional violations taking place in silence. These injustices must be exposed, questioned, and corrected!

Justice in education is justice in society!
